I let my OH pick this as my mind was drawing a complete blank. He has however come up with rugby pitches... He says it's romantic cos he picked 5 welsh and 5 english which shows he was thinking of his "sais"; ie the english girl he's marrying.

Either of you have any hobbies you could use for inspiration?

    OM since 28th July 2012

I havent been able to think of anything, but your idea is so lovely and sentimental x

I agree that there are a wealth of ways in which you can come up with personal table names in a simple way, for instance:  favourite songs or songs that express marriage and the day, favourite poems, places you have visited together, places you have been on dates.  A great deal is dependant upon your own hobbies and what you share together

We've been pondering this too. There's so many themes for this that we can have, its just a case of wittling them down.

I must admit at the past few weddings I've been to, table numbers were an issue for some people..You could hear them whispering 'ohh I'm at table 9' and 'ohh Im at table 7' and so on, it was almost like a competition and I don't want that happenening at my wedding. Why do people think that there is an alterior motive to table numbers? It baffles me! :/

Definitely agree! It's so silly, not everyone can be right next to the bride & groom!!

Married since the 21st January 2013!

All those of you who are naming your tables, does your table name theme link in to any other part of your big day? I'd really like to have table names as either pubs or halls in Aberystwyth as we met at uni there, but nothing else in our day would be Aber/uni related (well, apart from 2 of my bridesmaids and some guests who we also met there!). I feel a bit like the table name theme needs to tie in more with the rest of the day's theme, but I think that's pretty impossible for our table name theme. Unless we go with Aber Uni's colours of purple and yellow as our colour scheme?!

Not counting the days to 14th June 2013 out of denial - I'm going for the least-organised hitcher award Laugh

I don't think it needs to carry on the theme. Ours is in a kind of way in that our theme is turning into bookish/travel kind of rough theme (all very set in stone ;-) )

There is a small link but not really no.  The theme of our wedding is peacock colours with literature and music but our table names are places we have been together.  The small link is that one of the tables will be named after the place we hold our ceremony in.

So silly, they should be just happy they were invited to the day right not complaining about where there sat! Wink

After a lot of thought we have settled on waterfalls from around the world.....castes and musicals also made the shortlist. We will be having a picture of the waterfall and some info on the waterfall itself on each table....hopefully will be sort of a conversation starter/ice breaker....
