Hi!! it depends how much of a budget wedding you are doing and where you are willing to compromise! ... We are hoping to do ours for around £8,000 but we are not willing to compromise any more on numbers (80 day and 150 evening) so our venue is likely to be coming in at around £6,000 alone! but hoping to save on everything else! I would say that venue and cutting down guest numbers or a more informal meal etc is your first port of call to knock a huge chunk off the cost!
wedding dress - sample sales, preloved etc a really expesive shop near me has sample sales a lot and most the dresses are less than half the price!! alsso look at high street...monsoon have some amazing dresses ... im going to have a look there!
bridesmaid dress - High street or sales etc
shoes - Sales again more about shopping around!
cake - cupcakes! or i saw some really quirky ideas....

. french fancie cake with a giant one on top (think the giant one is less than £10 from supermarket and mini ones are couple of pounds a box...the caterpillers are from m&s...and they have added veil and top hat haha!! and the doughnuts are krispy kreme ...obviously they depend on the style of your wedding etc but i think they are cute and a talking point if done right!
wedding hair and makeup - D.I.Y....this is what i will be doing!!
photography - Personally i really don't want to scrimp on my photographer as im into photography myself and know i would find faults but if you have a very talented friend or you can contact a local photography college/university course etc?
flowers - Again we will be D.I.Ying the centrepieces and will only have my bouquet professionally done if i find a reasonable quote!!
rings - TESCO VOUCHERS!!! we did this and got my ring from goldsmiths for £29 - should have been £249!! also if a jewellers have an offer on where they give out vouchers to customers e.g next time you come and spend over £100 we will give you £25 off then more often than not they will not use them...a lot of this type of voucher are on ebay for 99p ish...we got one for h.samuels for a couple of pounds and it gave us £25 off H2Bs ring!
