    Hi ladies

I'm going to try and explain the situation without waffling on too much!

Basically, my sister and I went to some bridal shops yesterday to get an idea of what I might like to wear. The very first dress I tried on, I liked and it fitted me well, with perhaps just a little needing to be taken off the length, unless of course I lose weight! I then went on to try another 8 or 9 dresses in various different shops but nothing else fitted me. I am quite short so most of the dresses I tried on were way too long with almost 20% of the dress still on the carpet! Therefore, feeling a little disheartened and still very much liking the first dress I tried on, I rang up and paid a deposit. The dress I've gone for was  a sample so after such an unsuccessful day I felt I couldn't afford to take the risk of it being sold.

So, I'm left feeling half excited and pleased I've got my dress, but half disappointed that I don't feel absolutely elated with it. So many of my friends told me I would "just know" when I found "MY" dress. Can someone knock some sense in to me?!

I will try to add a photo of the dress.http://www.maggiesottero.com/dress.aspx?style=S5221CS

Is it the Milana one? It's stunning! I know how you feel as although at the time i did feel my dress was the one I was under pressure to buy that day as it was my only opportunity, so I felt excited but also nervous because of the quick decision. The photos of it on the Internet don't really help either...

    It's a lovely dress!

I know how you feel though, i went to a wedding fayre last minute yesterday, saw a dress on one of the stands which was an ex-sample so reduced, bought it and now its hanging in my wardrobe! Scary scary stuff!

I think taking the plunge is difficult but i'm sure you'll feel fab in it on the day and all will be well! :)

Thanks sooo much. You've really reassured me. I actually felt that it was a bit plain and not poofy enough!

Oh my gosh, that is stunning!  Let me know if you get too fed up and we can trade :)

But seriously, it's an amazing dress, I don't think you have anything to worry about and it's not at all plain, in any way.

Ask them if you can go back and try it on again. I fell in love with the first dress I tried on...I tried on a few others that day but couldn't get the first one out of my head so I put down a deposit. I then spent ages worrying, before going back to try it on again when I fell in love all over again. I then had wobbles for months until mine finally arrived, which is even more gorgeous than the sample and I fell in love again! I think just being away from it makes you forget how amazing you felt when you were in it.

The dress is really lovely, thats definately one people will be talking about after!

I was the same, i had my mum, aunty and MIL there with me and they all absolutely loved one of the dresses i tried on (also a maggie!), i did think it was lovely, but like you didnt have the feeling everyone talks about when they know its the one, anyway was convinced by them so paid the deposit there and then. I have stopped looking as I do like it, but scared incase i see one i like better which will leave me disappointed. I was planning on spending alot on the dress and the price tag for this one was 1300, luckily my mum helped me out but not sure if its the dress or the fact i was trying to justify spending that on a dress (i dont treat myself very often!). That was in october and im still waiting on it coming into the shop, so very on edge to see how i get on when it arrives.xx

I am so pleased that you're liking the dress, it makes me feel much better about the whole thing, although I have to say, it doesn't look anything like the picture on me! Sadly I'm A LOT shorter and nowhere near as slim and curvy as the model! But anyway, I think you might be right about being separated from the dress! It was actually a preowned dress from an agency so I don't have to wait long for it.. I have paid a deposit and I'm due to go back and collect it in a couple of weeks time. I am hoping to lose a bit of weight before the wedding although it has a corset back so shouldn't cause too much of a problem, but at the moment it fits well, I just need a teeny bit off the bottom. Just out of interest, do you prefer it with or without the sleeves? (they are detachable).

omg that is gorgeous. that is defintaly the wow dress that your guests will talk about. oooooo its getting me excited about finding my dress.

i think theres alot of pressure that other brides tell future brides that when its the one then you know it sometimes this can be that it fits straight away or its on sale or only one in the shop sent as a trail sample. Most of my friends who have got married said that their dress they like when then brought it as it had the "feeling" but they fell in love with it a little bit more when they went for the dress fittings and then seeing it the day before hung up ready for the next day and then the look on their furture hubbys face thats when it was the "one"

but is a totally gorgeous dress :)
