Thicko question alert?

Currently we steralise all of Islas bottles but not cups.

If i start to give her formula out of a cup, would i need to steralise it?

Yes if she is under 6 months old. I stopped steralising as soon as she started crawling which happened to be 6 months.

I would put it through the dishwasher xx

see the reason i asked is becuase i thought the whole point of steralising bottles is because milk isnt sterile, so didnt know if putting it in a cup made any difference.( told you i was being thick)

shes doing quite well with a cup now and shes 7 months old so it wont be right away but at some point we will start offering milk in a cup and just wondered really.

TheMrs dd you stop steralising everything or just cups? When did you stop steralising bottles?

FMC - can't answer your question but curious about I using a cup?  Is it an open cup?  How she doing with it?

We've been using an avent sippy style cup for water and was wondering about moving to a free flow cup and seeing how she gets on.

no its not an open cup, i wouldnt dare give her 1 without a lid the mess would be horrific. she actually drinks out of a cup without a lid better than a cup with a lid, but i cant give her an open cup to hold becuase she would have the whole lot all over the floor in about 1 second. she likes to shake it up and down.

we have tommy tippy sippy cups. shes doing well with them, sometimes a little water is spilt down her front but much better than she was a month ago.

i dont plan on sticking her milk in 1 anytime soon, but was just wondering cos they say to get them drinking milk from a cup by the time they are 1.

im glad im not the only 1 who doesnt know the answer tho. x

No, we didn't even sterilise bottles after 6 months (but that is against guidelines).

The reason we stopped was because a) Sawyer was eating things off the floor by that point and b) we always gave them a very good wash (with bottle brush) in very hot water.

We stopped sterilising everything but bottles at 6 months so just washed cups and plates etc
