  • Hampshire Brides - anybody out there?

    Hi ya,

Was curious to know if there are any other Hampshire brides out there? Would love to say hi and also find out about your venues. We are looking at 3 next week (our first ones) but must admit, I am struggling to find places that look like the kind that I will love, within a reasonable price range! Was hoping to get some inspiration!

    Hope to catch up soon,

Hi Rach, I'm a Hampshire bride- getting married at Tithe Barn in Petersfield- it's a lovely venue and the staff are wonderful, we're having both the ceremony and reception there.

    OM since 24/03/2012

HI ya roseability!  I love barn venues. We are going to look at the Clock Barn in Tufton Warren but reckon the price will make my other half want to cry!  Is it a bit rude/cheeky to ask roughly how much that all cost you? Petersfield wouldn't be too bad a journey for us x

    Hi,

I'm in Hampshire. Halfway between Southampton and Winchester. We are getting married at our local parish church and will be having the reception at the DeVere New Place.

What sort of venue are you after?

  • Re: Hampshire Brides - anybody out there?

Hi Tracy, you must live close to me as that is exactly how I would describe where I live! I would love a venue that is quite old and has some character (we have an appointment to view New Place!). I don't want to get married in a room that looks like it has a flip chart and some corporate team building going on the rest of the week! x

I'm in Southampton. We're having our reception at the Rose Bowl. I've stayed at New Place before and it was really nice.

    Hello

Were getting married on 29th December 2012 at the Old Thorns, Liphook. Good luck with the venue hunting x

  • Re: Hampshire Brides - anybody out there?

    Hi there!

I'm getting married in Hampshire- Norton Park Hotel in Sutton Scotney. Having the ceremony in the barn, drinks/canapes outside if weather good and then wedding breakfast and evening reception in the Norton Suite

Lovely venue - lots of good photo opportunities with the garden and lake......

  • Re: Hampshire Brides - anybody out there?

Hi I am Hampshire too! There does seem to be quite a few of us, I live near Fareham and am getting married in St Marys Church Portchester castle and then having the reception at Explosion Museum in Gosport. I have found them to be really flexible on suppliers and a lot cheaper than some of the barns I looked at (on quite a restricted budget).

ETA: just checked my emails and I believe the Tithe Barn is £3000-£3500 to hire with catering on top. (But those were in 2009)

Hi im a hampshire bride!   were having church wedding then reception at the new holiday inn in winchester, my oh wanted tradional and i wanted modern, so its a good compromise!   clock barn is a stones throw away from me and YES the price does make you cry! lol   i came across a barn in kingsclere for weddings, not sure of the name but google it and you should find it...

  • Re: Hampshire Brides - anybody out there?

Ooh, there are quite a few of us!

Another cheeky question for the lady having a Norton Park wedding - how much are we looking at? I haven't been able to see much on t'internet and was unable to get an appointment to have a look on the day I wanted (have to fit it around kids being in childcare).  Sounds like a nice one though

Did anyone look at Chilworth Manor? It is really close to where we live. We are viewing it next week but I have a suspicion it might be a bit too 'twee' for my taste, if you know what I mean
