  • Re: Bridal garters

I had ZERO idea this was a tradition and didn't buy my best friend her garter nor has she bought me one this time round. Oh I feel terrible now!!!!! I've just bought my own Sad

  • Re: Bridal garters

As it's my 'something blue', and blue is OH's mum's favourite colour, my MIL2B will be buying it for me.  Not traditional but more meaningful to us.

    I'm picking it though!!

Ooops - I ordered mine a couple of weeks ago. Didn't know it was tradition for the MOH to buy it!

  • Re: Bridal garters

I bought my own but took it off before I left the house as it was so irritating!

  • Re: Bridal garters

My mum bought me mine. It was a beautiful Florrie and MItton one with a vintage style charm and blue bow.  Very comfortable.

    Advising pen numpties since 2010.

  • Re: Bridal garters

If I have one I'll be buying my own.  I can't really see the point of one though.  I'm normally really keen on doing little things just because they're traditional but I can't get my head around this one.

  • Re: Bridal garters

I would find it VERY strange if my sister bought my garter. It's a bit strange. Tongue Tied

My Mum has bought me one from glitzy secrets, it is a lovely lace one and feels like it will stay up: http://www.glitzysecrets.com/something-blue-wedding-garter-ivory.html

You can choose which charm you have and it comes with a chain so you can wear the charm as a necklace afterwards.

  • Re: Bridal garters

lol, it was tradition when i got married 8 years ago so it may well have fizzled out, am putting together a range of garters so was just wondering Smile

not something I had thought about as I didn't know it was tradition. I suspect however that I shall end up buying my own x

  • Re: Bridal garters

I never knew it was tradition to let the MOH buy this as I was cb for my sister and never bought her one, infact she never had one full stop.

I recently bought mine from La senza just before the website closed only thing is its a shade of pink and look like a little tutu so not sure if will actually wear yet but might do seeing as ive bought it to wear.

  • Re: Bridal garters

If I have one I am planning to make it myself. It probably won't be beautiful but I was thinking lace edging, elastic, ribbon and maybe a charm/silk flower? I'm not planning to show it to anyone so it's more as a bit of fun for me if I do it.
