    Hi all,

Thought it was about time for another update since they're all growing so quickly! Phoebe is 7.5 months is and is doing quite well. She has started crawling (slowly - her borther was later and was off like the clappers) which im not sure is a good or bad thing. She can sit herself up too which is useful - she has always been pretty strong and LOVES standing. She doesnt cruise though so a long way off walking.

She has 8 teeth now and no more coming through atm and she seems a bit happier in herself. She loves biting my boob and last night almost had the nipple off, not enjoying bf at all at the moment (well sometimes its fine when shes not using me as a teether!

Her sleep is still hit or miss, more miss atm but im not going to try and sort anything until we move in a few weeks.

Her weaning is going well, we are doing a mix of blw and purees and shes loving food and eats well. She's still having loads of milk too and is turning into a wee chunk lol big chubby thighs - love them!

She had a little modelling shoot last week for a cloth nappy company. Will be a few weeks until the launch the product until we see the pics, she behaved so they hopefully got a good one.

You can tell she's a 2nd baby as i have no idea of weight/height!

P sounds like she is coming along great.

J is 7.5 months, and is an absolute star. He started crawling at 5 months, but then decided it was more fun to shuffle everywhere on his bum, so that's what he does. He's started to try and pull himself up too, so nothing is safe with him about. He puts his arms up to be picked up, along with a very cute "mamma" which makes me melt.

He still has no teeth, despite the fact he's been teething since 12 weeks. C was around 8 months when he finally got his first tooth though.

I have no idea how much he weighs, getting him weighed 3rd Feb. He's a really good eater, so i know he's going to have piled it on since his last weigh in. He has 3 meals a day, so has dropped a couple of milk feeds. When he does have milk, it's usually in a beaker. He's a big lad, and has just gone into size 18-24month vests.

He sleeps from 7 until 6.30am, which is heaven. I'm lucky he's always been a good sleeper, i think i've had about 4 terrible nights with him. Fingers crossed it lasts. He has 3 naps a day too.

Here's my scrummy lad with his gummy smile...

Will be back to update on Joshua later Smile

  • Re: My old 2011 tri buddies - catch up?

Was only thinking this morning that we need a catch up.

P sounds a bit like a female version of my A, she's such a cutie.  Look forward to seeing he modelling shots!

ER- Wow, sounds liek he'll be running around in no time!

Alex was 8 months on Saturday and despite month 6-7 probably being our worst month due to a combination of him teething and me just finding it all a bit monotomous I'm back to loving it all again.

He has 6 teeth now, although I couldn't tell you when teeth 5 and 6 actually cut, because he barely moaned about them.  I hope that's the case for the rest of them.  He's not bit me when feeding (yet!) but does like to bite my shoulder when he fools me in to thinking he's about to give a lovely cuddle.

He can get around by rolling and is sooo desperate to crawl, he is always getting up on all fours and hasn't quite twigged what order to move his limbs to sctaully get anywhere fast.  He also likes to do a plank by going up on his toes and hands, it will certaily be an unorthadox style if he masters that one!  In the last couple of days he's worked out how to get back to sitting which is helpful.

We're BLW and although it's taken a while (started just shy of 6m) he's finally eating some quantity now.  This morning I gave him a banana and I was shocked when there was only a tiny bit to clear up rather than the 98% of a banana that I'm used to.  I am NOT loving the dirty nappies now.

He had a sickness bug just over a week ago and was weighed in the hospital at 25.5lb, which is the same as he was 2 months ago so he's finally started to even out (it still puts him over the 99.6th centile though).  He's lost some of his many chins at last too!

He's a typical boy and can only concentrate on one thing at a time so he hasn't made any new sounds whilst he's been concentrating on crawling but I'm sure he'll practice his vocal skills once he's learnt how to move.

We're going to look at nurseries week after next in anticipation of my return to work somewhere around the end of May/early June.  I'm starting to look forward to it now, I think nursery will be good for him too, he loves other children.

We keep ourselves busy with lots of groups, Jo Jingles and Waterbabies being our favourites.

Sleep, hmmm, not great.  He averages 3 hour stints from 8 - 7.  I thought I'd cracked it when he seemed cold one night and the next to nights I put a long rather than short sleeve vest on and a fleece sleepsuit and he did 4 and 4.5 hour stints, but last night was back to 2.5 hours.

We're still bf althbough I've introduced 1 5oz bottle of formula a day.  Just because I find pumping and freezing a bit of a faff.  HE got very fussy with the bottle but after a couple of weeks of perseverance he takes it well now so I might start offering him the bottle at night rather than boob to see if he is genuinely hungry or just comfort feeding.

Hi everyone! Lovely to read your updates and what gorgeous babies you all have Smile

Joshua is 7 and half months now and is just the happiest, smiliest baby Big Smile He is so chilled out and laid back, the total opposite to his big sister!

I'm taking him to get weighed tomorrow but from using my scales he is round about 18lb. He is very long though, going to be tall and slim I think. He can move himself about the room by rolling and is very good at sitting up. No sign of crawling or pulling himself up yet but i'm in no rush for that - I want him to stay my wee baby Laugh

He is definitely a mummy's boy and if he cries during the evening he likes me to settle him. If my H goes up to him he apparently just stares at the door looking for me. He moves himself round in his cot too so he's facing the door so he can see me coming in!

He has 3 meals a day and is getting on much better with food after still having his tongue thrust until a couple of weeks ago. He isn't a fan of jars so lazy mummy is having to make food for him although now that my H is on a healthy eating drive I am hoping we can all just start eating the same thing for tea. He is really good with finger foods and will happily munch his way through a philly sandwich. He still has a BF in the morning and at bedtime with a bottle of formula in the afternoon. He has never slept through and I am starting to tackle that tonight as he eats enough during the day so is definitely only waking up for comfort. He will happily have 2 or 3 BF's during the night but I am back at work in 5 weeks so would like a full night's sleep

We don't go to any specific baby groups - the poor boy just gets dragged to Abigail's classes and has to sit in his pram while she goes to gym and dancing lol

I am very broody, I don't think having such a good baby is helping that! I think we will go for number 3 at some point later in the year Eek

Here's a pic of my gorgeous boy

  • Re: My old 2011 tri buddies - catch up?

So lovely to hear how everyone is getting on, such gorgeous smiley babies Love

F is 7 months and a week and is a real character.  She's very happy and content, but quite vocal! She doesn't cry much, but she is such a chatter box and has new sounds emerging every day now. She saves the biggest squeals and smiles for her big brother though.

She's been teething since forever, but still no teeth...  I can feel a little rough bit on her bottom gum, but that's been there for days.  She weighs about 18lbs and is just under 75 centile, having been on 50th since birth, but she is quite a chunky thing!

She's been rolling over since 17 weeks and never stays still for a minute.  She can get on all fours and on feet/hands, but tends to commando/roll her way round the room.  She can sit, but never stays still very long, so usually ends up on her front quite quickly, although today she was making an attempt to sit up on her own.  She LOVES her jumperoo, and anytime I hold her up to standing she just wants to jump!

Her sleeping was excellent until 4.5 months, then we struggled till 6 months and it's been a bit hit and miss since, but is improving.  She now goes down at 7pm and generally wakes about 10.30 for a bottle, then usually wakes once in the night, but doesn't generally want feeding again, just her comforter put back over her face. She does sometimes sleep through now, but not as often as I'd like her too!

She's been swimming once and loved it, but has had a cold this week so we didn't go, but hope to get her enrolled in swimming lessons soon, as I always regretted not being able to take Tom to lessons, as I went back to work.

Here she is munching on a piece of toast:

    Gorgeous babies!

Amelie is 8.5 months now and chunking out nicely. No clue what she weighs (2nd baby..) but she has good fat rolls on her legs so that's fine by me. We're still bf, I'd like to stop but she's having none of it and still feeding a lot at night so although I make half-hearted attempts to give her formula during the day I'm too lazy to actually stop. Sleep is truly horrendous, I can't even begin to explain how knackered I am but we're essentially no further on from newborn days except in a way it's worse as she won't nap during the day either Bawl As far as she's concerned her cot is a bed of nails but daddy's shoulder is the place to be -  she's awake on my lap right now as I'm failing miserably to feed her to sleep while H is out. We co-sleep at night purely as she won't entertain any other option, but it no longer guarantees much sleep. I think she's teething at the mo which obviously doesn't help. So far she just has the one tooth, which is very different from her brother who had about 6 by this point.

Aside from that she's the most wonderful thing ever. After the nightmare first year we had with Dyl and our difficulty bonding I feel kind of guilty at how brilliant I think she is. Things that a lot of people take for granted I am utterly amazed by, having had Dyl as my standard. She has already surpassed his abiities in most areas and catching up in the others so it's been fascinating watching her develop. I take her to a baby group on tuesdays while D is at nursery and it feels so good to be a normal member of the group and like I'm finally getting all those experiences of motherhood I missed out on before. She is perfect therapy Smile

We're BLW and she's taken to it really well - I agree that I'm not loving those nappies though! She's not crawling yet and still hates tummy time, but is starting to bumshuffle a bit now. She kind of said her first word the other day too - her brothers influence, he only has a few words, one of which is 'ball', so we play ball with him and say the word a lot, and yesterday she held up a ball, looked at me and said 'ball'. We have 'mama' and 'dada' too but I'm not sure if she associates the words with us yet.

Here's my gorgeous girl at Christmas on her favourite toy Horsey.

you all sound like you are doing so well and lovely photos

i'm sooooooooo tired, S has woken about 5-6 times a night for the last 3 weeks.   He had 3 teeth before Xmas and I think he got 2 more this weekend with 1 more about to cut.  He doesn't like to nap in the day so I have no idea why he doesn't need more sleep at night.  We have started to go to more groups and classes although i am so tired I can't remember anyones names which I find really embarrassing.  He is crawling backwards a bit but mainly just shouts and throws his toys around.  We are trying to wean him but he just doesn't seem interested, he will have a spoon or 2 of porridge and that's it, or a nibble or  2 from a banana but then he doesnt want to have any more in his mouth.

    Hello ladies, what gorgeous children!

Isabella is now 7.5 months and is fantastic!  I am loving being a SAHM but sometimes do feel a bit overwhelmed by remembering to do everything, bottles, food, clean teeth etc etc...

Sleepwise she has b,b,b at 6 p.m. and is generally down by 6.30, 6.45 at the latest depending on how much fun she is having in the bath.  She then tends to wake maximum once for her dummy around 4 then thends to wake for a bottle around 6 then is up anytime between 7 and 8.30!

She is still on 5 bottles a day but as she is such a great sleeper generally we have to give her one every 3 hours to fit them all in so sometimes she leaves a bit.  We are doing BLW but this morning she let me feed her her porridge for the first time.  I think as she actually woke for a bottle at 5 a.m. instead of 6 or later she was starving and has worked out if I give it to her she gets more and quicker!!

She loves chewing meat, pork chop being her fave so far and she also loves chicken curry.  Second the nappies, the other day I found a 3cm bit of green bean that she had obviously swallowed whole Weep  I am trying to be inventive and imaginative but am such a lazy eater myself.  When H is on shift I tend to have a bowl of pasta every night so have to work harder foor I as that is not exactly a varied diet!!!  Tonight we are having bns risotto so will do with wigth her stock and save some for her.  I am also going to make her some chilli later Stick out tongue

We love going to classes, our faves are water babies and sing and sign.  She is such a little attention seeker, always wanting everyone looking at HER!  When we are swimming all the other babies are focusing on their parent which I does do until we get to the spectator bit then she just shouts at them until they all look at her!!!

She started sitting about 2 weeks ago but can't do it herself but if she rocks back she can pull herself back up, she is still not a fan of tummy time unless leant over a leg or her donut.  She has 4 teeth and got the first a week or so before Christmas.  No signs of crawling but she loves standing holding on so maybe she won't bother crawling, her Dad didn't not that that is much to go on!

No words but she gabbles a lot and has started making a sound like she is pooing all the time which is attractive!!

The other day we went to class and I had dashed from the car as it was raining having taken her out of her car seat and of course she didn't have a coat on but I did.  One of the other mothers said, oh is she your second.  Erm, no!!  Poor child.

We are keen to have another and have been not trying not to for a couple of months.  Now my cycle has messed up (currently CD39) so who knows what is going on.

Lovely to catch up with you all xxxx

hey ladies! loving the photos! Connie is 6.5 months now and still a porker - if you look at her from above she is as wide side to side as front to back! After a rocky start with puree weaning at 5 months she's not BLW and loving it! I'm always surprised by how little wastage there is  -shes eating probably 80% of what goes into her mouth. Nectarine is the favourite - she bawls for more. sleep isn't great. She slept through from 4-18 weeks then we had a nursing strike. Shen she started feeding again she fed through the night to catch up and still is now. Had a fw nights where she's slept through which is no help to me - i just wake at 3am soaking wet!

No teeth but she can sit up unaided and will no longer lie down! I. Must. Be. Upright! As a result she's rolled once but is unwilling to repeat the manoeuvre! She's got pretty good balance on her legs and I have a feeling she'll skip crawling - she doesn't mind being on her front but resembles a beached whale!

She is totally and utterly in love with her big sister and lights up whenever she's around. I thought sarah was an easy baby but connie makes her look like a nightmare! On Fridays she comes to art clas with me and happily sits chatting to the OAPs! Although tomorrow she will be sitting in the middle of the table being drawn! fingers crossed she behaves!

So lovely to hear how everyone's getting on and to see such gorgeous babies

L is now 9.5 months and is a lovely little boy. I had him weighed last week (1st time in months, 2nd baby...) and he was nearly 23lb, nearly 5lb bigger than his sister at the same age.

He's been sitting up properly for a while and just loves to stand. He cruises on the furniture, balances standing for a few seconds and loves walking holding hands, back breaking but very cute. He's not crawling and as he likes standing so much I don't think he will. He does move though, in a kind of reach and pull / bum shuffle movement from sitting, you can't put your finger on how he's doing it but he's definitely not where you left himLaugh. I'm enjoying seeing him respond to us. He just keeps amazing me,  I think becuase the time has flown by with #2 I think he's doing things early, whereas in reality it's proably exactly the timescale F did. He will put his hand in front of his face to play peekaboo, clap if you ask him to or if you say 'clever boy' (which is clearly what we said whenever he clapped at first!) and he's just started doing 'twinkle twinkle' hands.

We've done blw but with some spoon feeding of mush when he asks for it (so bl mush I suppose) as he's been a big fan of food from the start and got impatient if he couldn't get in what he wanted. He's getting a bit fussy but usually just eats whatever he's offered. He's still bf morning and night and has two bottles in the day, has done for a few weeks in preparation to my going back to work

Sleep wise isn't great, he rarely goes through and if he does it's until 5am, when a quick feed will usually get him down again until 6.30-7. We're not usually up with him for long though, and if we have a settled spell of not going away or him not getting ill he does improve

I went back to work this week [:'(] so it's been a big change for hte poor chap, suddenly at nursery two full days a week. He's done really well and is apparently enjoying it. I know he loves watching F and her friends doing things so I think he will like watching the older children, and as I know F liked it there I'm confident he will enjoy it once he's settled. I miss him though, and it's like I never had any time away after only 3 days back, but that's the way it goes I suppose.

This is my favourite Christmas pic of my boy
