  • my baby seems to be off milk

and i dont know why. shes been like this for about 3 weeks or so now. Just taking less and less.

she has 2 meals a day so our routine goes

    milk

    food

    milk

    food

    milk

she used to drain a 7 ounces bottle at all times but now im lucky if she takes 4 or 5 ounces of 1. Originally she was on hungry baby but i thought maybe that was to much for her with the food so i switched to follow on milk about a week ago but shes still not taking more.

she isnt or hasnt been ill , just teething so i dont know whats causing the problem. She doesnt seem hungry, shes not wanting food or another bottle more often and isnt waking in the night for food or anything. also shes still putting on weight and still following her centile line, if not being a little bit over it.

is this a problem? should i just bear with it or is there anything else i need to be trying? i have read somewhere they need to have 20 ounces a day at her age, and if they are under should have vitamin drops, we are currently under so should i be buying these?

E didn't like the bottle at all when she was teething, she'd cry and refuse it. I guess it was sore on her gums. Perhaps the food is filling her up, how old is she? It may be worth dropping a milk feed during the middle of the day and just doing a morning and night time bottle? The vitamin drops are up to you but I wouldn't. If she is eating the right foods, she doesn't need them x

shes 6 and a half months. I was thinking of introducing another meal during the day, but something small, maybe that would work?

I did think about it hurting her teeth , but iv tried cups and we dont get on very well with them either. thats more becuase she cant manage the flow from them and it seems to end up all down her front. maybe il look for a different kind.

i do make her breakfast with full fat cows milk and she has yoghurt after her evening meal so she is getting calcium and stuff from her food, not just her milk.

I'd try another meal in the afternoon, perhaps with a sippy cup of formula should she want it (if she manages to use it, took E a good few months to get to grips with it!). If she is still sleeping as she previously has, I'm sure she is just full.
