J is going to his Mums later. Do you want me to get him to drop my Blood pressure monitor of to you?

AS for swelling - more so with Fred , swelling appeared after a night sleep, rather than being on feet all day.

Never really had swelling with Bea, but never had a long 3rd Tri.

But looking at photos, i did puff up quite a bit & had the yellow tinge.

My feet were so swollen they looked like blown up surgical gloves and as well as cankles my knees kind of merged into my legs. I didn't have even a hint of PE (had my levels checked soooo many times as I had dodgy blood pressure).

It's normal to swell in the third tri though I can completely see why you would be paranoid. Can you put your feet up and go in and get checked if you are worried Hug

Did you wake up swollen or has it developed throughout the day?

  • Re: Pregnancy swelling

I've only really noticed that my legs, feet and hands swell up a bit if I've had a busy day or been on my feet a long time. I've just seen your post on the 3rd tri thread and it could be down to your busy day yesterday. How are you feeling other than that? Maybe rest up a little and if it doesn't improve later it might be worth getting checked out just to put your mind at ease x

Thanks for the offer Mrs JMP. I'm in 2 minds over your offer. I was adamant when I was pregnant with C that I wouldn't have one as I would be using it all the time! Although, from the start of this pregnancy I have had it in my head I won't get to term (even though I am not too far off it now) I've just spent most of the afternoon on the sofa.....albeit with 2 children to entertain and jumping all over me. I 'think' the swelling may have gone down a bit.

BTW- how are you and your lovely family? Keep meaning to send you a message to say 'hi' but not getting around to it!

How weird! It was actually a re-join though. I forgot my password from the first time I was meant to get married (runaway bride Big Smile) I was sexybex originally. Probably first joined a decade ago Embarrassed

i had horrendous swelling from 22 weeks.  by 30 weeks it was painful to walk my legs had swollen that much - felt like someone was giving me chinese burns with every step.  my knees and thighs were swollen too to bending to sut etc was very painful.  at 35 weeks i was told to wear surgical stockings constantly.

I was told to rest with my legs higher than my heart to help bring the swelling down.  Unfortuantely it only slightly helped but as soon as I stood up they would go back to normal.  I used to sleep with my legs on 4 pillows on a night and by the time I'd reached the bathroom they were swollen up again.

I can pop it over anytime, no problems. I had it to monitor at home along with dip sticks, as I knew I had a certain level that was 'norm' to me, but not norm in normal pregnant women IYKWIM?

Don't forget, you are doing more than what you would , as you have the kids to deal with. Baby is most probably larger than the other two, so you will notice that too.

We are all fine. If you are free, i'll come over & see you if you fancy company, or you can come here.

    xx

In 3rd tri I was swollen to the point that I went to the GP over and over again. My hands were probably twice their normal size. My feet looked like blown up rubber gloves!

Probably from 30 weeks onwards x

I've been lucky that I haven't really had any of this but I hope it was just because you were really busy yesterday. Hope you've managed to rest a bit today & that your swelling has gone down. x
