Before wedding planning I had never heard of Maggie Sottero, so I didn't expect my OH to know the designer.  When I bought the dress back in January, I was chatting on the phone to the OH, waffling on, saying I had bought my dress and it was a Maggie.  The sneaky sh*t went online, googled "Maggie wedding dresses" came up with the website which has 300+ dresses and said to me "Is it like _____ or ______?"  Both dresses that he'd picked were almost identical to mine one which was "April" - from then onwards, my lips were sealed!!!

The other half said someone was chopping onions up front - check it out HERE and decide for yourself.  Our WEDDING REPORT by Nic-Nak's OH can be seen HERE.

I really wanted to ask my OH but chicken out incase he said something that was close to what I have chosen LOL

I think I'm might ask him to write down what he thinks I'll wear and put it in an evelope and we'll open in after the wedding :)

I was tempted to do this - I have written down his predictions in my phone!

He also thinks my hair is going to be down, possibly with flowers in. Nuh-uh.

I think my OH expected me to wear a slinky long dress, perhaps with a halter neck,i had a tea length dress which he was not surprised at either although i have a feeling he peeked at did see my dress but he would never admit it.

My OH thinks my dress is going to be purple........and slim line.........i dont want to make him think other wise, i told him i didnt want the 'princess' dress

ive got my eye on alfred angelo snowwhite or cindrella platinum (which i get to try them both on again on saturday, along side several others to make my final desision).............how wrong is he, tool

I dont believe in all the superstition that surrounds that the groom cant see the dress etc. Ive picked my dress and shown him and he loves it , which is great as its important that he likes . However he wont be seeing me in it before the day

  • Re: Do you think your dress is what your H2B will expect?

i've got no idea. he refuses to play the dress game. Though he did point out the other day, one dress that had big ribbons all over it and said it looked ridiculous. I pretended to look all sad (to throw him off the scent) and he shut up pretty sharpish.

Mine also refuses to play along, he's terrified that he will say "oh I hate lacy dresses" and mine will be lacy (which it is).

He also openly admits that I could describe my dress to him in full detail and he would still be none the wiser as he's not got a great imagination and also has no idea what a sweetheart neckline is.

I don't think he will be too surprised at my dress although I think it will be bigger than he is expecting. He knows I'm wearing a veil as I let it slip accidentally doh!

I asked OH last night, whilst watching DTTB, what type/style of dress he would pick for me. He described my exact dress! Smile

    He know's me well!

  • Re: Do you think your dress is what your H2B will expect?

Mine said when asked that he is expecting "like a Victorian" i.e. a CRINOLINE. Ha. I imagine what he'll think when he sees my Ian Stuart slimline dress

  • Re: Do you think your dress is what your H2B will expect?

He tried to describe what he thought I would look like walking down the aisle.

He imagination now concerns me lol.

  • Re: Do you think your dress is what your H2B will expect?

Everytime I try and coax my H2B into talking about dresses, he refuses! He says he doesnt want to know anything at all about my outfit, and that he darent comment incase he says he hates something I love and spoils it!

My fingers work faster than my brain, but I am too lazy to fix the typos!

  • Re: Do you think your dress is what your H2B will expect?

Ive broached the subject with the Best Man and OH is convinvinced im wearing either purple slinky dress.....no tiara or veil or white slinky with a small sparkly hair slide......................................................

.......hes so wrong, and im so glad abou it :D

  • Re: Do you think your dress is what your H2B will expect?

Well, I needed a dress that was practical to a) get married on a beach and b) dance at my ceilidh reception back home. So H2b was thinking it would be sthg short (or at least just above ankle length, no train) and inexpensive. Came back from the shop telling him that a) I'd blown the budget, and b) it was a much bigger dress than I had planned, gypsy wedding stylee with loads of bling that won't fit on the plane. It's a half truth. It IS bigger than I was going to go for, and does have crystals on the bodice, and a train. I am also concerned about transporting it since it isn't the single layer chiffon thing I was originally planning. I think H2b now thinks I'm in a blush pink (cos I keep going on about wanting pink shoes) pouffy meringue with no train (cos that would mean I would be able to dance and walk on the sand).

He'll be rather surprised, I think, when I turn up in a rather classical ivory dress with just a few crystals across the bodice, and a many-layered chiffon skirt. Big dress, yes, but still floaty.
