What colour accessories to wear with a Teal dress?

panda2011, 17 of May of 2011 at 10:37 Posted on Planning 0 11

My mum has bought her dress from Hobbs in a beautiful teal green but we have spent the last month struggling to find anything to match it. She wants a pair of shoes, a jacket, a fascinator & a little bag. We did think navy but everything in the shops this year seems to be black which mum doesn't feel is appropriate to wear to her daughters wedding. Finding the right shade of teal to match is just about impossible as there seems to be so many different variations on the colour! Has anyone got any bright ideas? Mum is starting to talk about buying a different dress as she is so disheartened with her accessories search & it would be a real shame if she didn't wear this dress because it is very lovely on her.

Grey pearls look fabulous with teal as do ivory ones.

    Purple or bright pink?

I went to the races a couple of years back in a teal dress with purple shoes, pashmina and bag and it looked lovely (if I do say so myself!)

Thanks ladies, I will pass your comments on to the stressed mother of the bride! Nicnol, it's a lovely dress isn't it! Panjita, I do love those shoes. I think purple might go well with the particular shade of teal so will give that a go.

I'd go with ivory and silver. I've got quite a few teal outfits and always wear silver shoes, bag etc. x

This is what I would've said too Smiley smile failing that a grey or go for a hot colour like a fuschia or even chocolate.

I think Fushia pink goes lovely or purple

My mum bought this dress from Hobbs:

https://www.hobbs.co.uk/index.cfm?page=1116 The Beaufort Dress (Sorry the link wont come up properly)

It has teal in it, but she matched everything with purple:

    https://www.hobbs.co.uk/index.cfm?page=1015 - Purple 'Lacey' Jacket
https://www.hobbs.co.uk/index.cfm?page=1151 - Daria Clutch bag in Purple

Have you thought about taking her to your local house of fraser? If i were you i'd take the dress with you and ask there personal shopper to help you out! they did a brilliant job on my mum's outfit!

I think fuschia or bright purple would go really well, but if she doesn't want to be quite so daring, a nice pewter/gun metal grey would be really nice.
