What's the most embarrassing public announcement your LO has made?

Not my child (and I'm emphasising that - mine can't talk yet [laugh) but we had a conversation recently with my 6 year old stepson.  We were at a fun day at a local college and he asked what there was going to be.  So I start telling him bouncy castles, raffles, ceilidh dancing - he interrupts loudly with "ceilidh dancing?  What's ceilidh dancing?  Oh I know, is it like pole dancing?"

Cue giggles and stares from the people around us!  I still don't know how he has heard of pole dancing and quite frankly I don't think i want to know!

    your turn x

    Laugh

Lorna used to have a habit of announcing loudly in public toilets "mummy you are taking your pants down. Now you are sitting on the toilet. Are you doing a wee or a poo, Mummy? Don't forget to wipe your bottom. And now you are pulling your pants up. WHy have you got black pants today Mummy?" etc etc.

And not in public, but yesterday she stripped off at bathtime and announced she was "totting" [tarting?] herself up for her bath?! Bit worrying, that one.

"Daddy, that little boy's got a penis.  A SMALL penis.  I don't have a penis, I've got bits"

  • Re: MILK -embarrassing things kids say

Thanks girls - I needed a laugh this morning! I'm loving the teeth Melly, and the bits vs penis! :)

W isn't yet to that embarrassing outburst phase, though he does narrate when we're in teh toilet cubicle together. More just like Mummy pee, and I have to respond, yes, and narrate what I'm doing so he knows. (Potty training has a lot to answer for!)

Loving these btw, L will be 2 in 2 weeks and she has started her very protective of mummy stage.  This seems to come out more in the supermarket so when anyone walks near us she screams at them, wags her finger and shouts "No, my mummy" then pats me.  If anyone tries to take anything from a shelf near to where I am standing she tells them off by saying "No, norty (naughty) thats my mummy's".  It was funny at first but is a bit tiring now lol.

I posted the other day on here about L who when we where standing in the que at the local co-op there was a display of fosters and strongbow and L pipes up saying "booze booze" makes slurping noises pretending to drink then shouts "mummy's booze".  The man behind me was wetting himself laughing, L had her audience then so was in her element and kept saying it. Eek

when hannah says 'quick' it sounds like 'pri*k' so she's regularly out in public shouting 'pri*k, pri*k'

And 'clock' sounds like 'co*k' which is also embarassing when she sees one when out and has to announce 'look mummy a co*k'

When my daughter was learning to talk she made lots of Sssh sounds which did sound for a while like she was saying Sh*t, sh*t

Now we're in the 'are you doing a poo, mummy?' phase.

Worse was me saying to a woman in a shop 'my daughter needs a wee' instead of 'do you have a toilet'. Like I was talking to a three year old Laugh

This is what Nate says too for Macca Pacca, it's so hard trying not to laugh, it's given the grandparents lots of amusement, although they encouraged it a little too much

We took the bus a few weeks ago and K remarked that the bus smelt.  I stupidly (!) said that was because of all the smelly men and boys that use the bus.  Right on cue an older man gets on the bus and K exclaims at her highest voice 'THAT MAN SMELLS MUMMY'!  I was so embarrased!
