A topic we all love - give me some suggestions for boys names please!!

Well, I thought 2nd time round was hard for picking names but 3rd time seems an absolute nightmare!!!  Got girls name sorted and the name we've got lined up is one we wanted to use for my daughter but couldn't.  However boys names seems to be completely eluding us!  We want something that goes "nicely" with Joseph and Elisabeth (Libby) but isn't too popular (though no doubt it will become popular as they get older as thats happened previously lol).

Ideas so far are Oliver, Fredric and Thomas - thats about it!  Further complicated by us giving our older children 2 middle names so 3 names to find in all - sigh!

Give me your ideas pelase!!!  We like sort of traditional/older names and ones that can have different shortenings so they can adapt as they grow up and grow with them.

We both like Sam(uel) but my brother is Sam and there is also a William in the family.  Trouble is my hubby has a large close(ish) family of cousins and cousins and cousins so it kind of rules those names out.  Then you get all the kids at school who you associate names with and now my son plays rugby so we've got those to add into the mix. 

Is it me or do girls names so much easier to decide on?  Or are there actually more girls names in general?

I like Noah but hubby doesn't - since when did men have a choice anyway, do they do through childbirth

I really like Edward to and think this would have been a firm favourite if one of my closest friends hadn't just used it for her son - some people are so inconsiderate lol

Nathaniel is good too as this is hubby's middle name (well Nathan) - would you shorten it to Nat?  Andrew, Daniel and William are all out and I'm just not sure about Matthew (though another friend has one so probably not - argh)

Would it just be easier to have a mass friend and family cull then I can use any name I like!!

I do really like Ben and Toby but am thinking more along the lines of Benedict and Tobin but don't know if thats too 'out there'.

Ellis is a good name - my son has an Elliott at rugby and think they're good names without being too odd!
