  • Anyone care to show me some pictures of slinging an older child please?

Im thinking of getting a new sling for Darcie she is a big 14month old,and when i think of slings i have used, they seem to be for babies,so i want to see what bigger ones look like in slings.

I use an ergo which is really good for a toddler (sorry no photos)

  • Re: Anyone care to show me some pictures of slinging an older child please?

    Is that back or front?

Is she big Rusty? D looks the same size as a 2 year old,and i just cant visualise her in a sling lol

  • Re: Anyone care to show me some pictures of slinging an older child please?

D was 20 months in these, it's a Connecta Solarweave. At 2y 6m I'm still slinging regularly in an AMC II and a Connecta.

I wanted to go out and change the world but I couldn't find a babysitter.

Celeste's your girl for that. She was slinging a 3 year old in a mei-tai today. V impressive.

Front if I am home alone, back if I have help. She's 75th percentile...

ok the top sling is a connecta, i cant put it on myself on a back carry but i know lots can, aaron is 98th centile line so is big, this is when he was 13 months

bottom sling is a beco, it has an internal harness so is easy peasy to put on by yourself for a back carry.

i love both of them and they are both very comfy, as does aaron!

ergo does both, I can still sling her comfortably on my back now and she is 31 months.

    Yay pictures!!

He looks really erm.... im not sure how to say it without it sounding rude, but really normal and not too big to be in there, which is exactly what i wanted to see!

I am loving the finger up the nose in the top picture!

So its ergo's and connectas so far then!

I think im going to have to start saving my pennies lol

I love all the pictures thank you xx

Do you know I've had that picture 10 months and I've only just seen that thanks to you pointing it out! How funny!

Bobas are another good choice for bigger kids, I didn't personally get on with it but I know plenty of people do. Manduca is another brand worth looking at.

Was trying to see if I had a recent pic, but I don't think I do!

I wanted to go out and change the world but I couldn't find a babysitter.

I use my boba with my almost 2 year old - he is on the 90% and pretty hefty - no pics yet

  • Re: Anyone care to show me some pictures of slinging an older child please?

I don't have any pics online but love my Boba - it's specifically a toddler carrier. I carry Izzy (12m, 22lbs) regularly on my front in it and can barely feel her weight. It's so comfy.

I still carry J on my back (occasionally on my front) and he is 3 years 9 months! I am in the process of designing a SnugToddler Smile

The picture on this page is a while ago (taken in Feb, so he was 3 years 4 months): http://www.snugbaby.co.uk/articles/

And this was last week (not a good slinging pic, but you can tell he's up there)
