    Hey everyone.

Thanks for everyones help on my cadburys purple wedding themed post!  I am so grateful for all your suggestions you've helped me out bucket loads.  As you are all so lovely and helpful thought i'd ask now about the cake.

We would like something different instead of just a "traditional" cake I was thinking along the lines of a cake made by a tower of profiteroles, or soley out of sweets, or chocolate and strawberries or maltesers etc.  Has anyone had one of these or any HIBs that make or know anyone that make novalty wedding cakes 'with a twist' Wink

I have a little while yet to research but thought i'd start the ball rolling with you lot first.  I am from the Essex area and don't really want to spend more than £250 on it.

Has anyone heard of anybody having a chocolate fountain instead of a cake?

    H xx

Maybe you could have a small novelty cake and then a chocolate fountain... it doesnt have to be the "norm" its your wedding day, have what you want!

Email some cake shops round by you and see what they can do with your budget.... you might be suprised!!

We're not having a traditional cake. Instead we'll be serving a 'cheese cake' made from 6 layers of different cheese piled up to look like a more traditional cake.  We'll serve it later on in the evening with pork pies, chutneys, biscuits etc rather than a normal buffet.

someone on here had a "doughnut" cake i think!  or they flashed a pic of it a while back!  It was like a cupcake stand with loads of doughnuts on it!  As for alternative cakes, how about just having a cake shaped as something else.  Iv seen a car wedding cake with the bride and groom in it??

Woweee girls thanks for your help.

I have seen a chocolate gateaux cake from Druckers that I really like the look of, I thought I might buy a decent sized one of them if I can (i'm waiting to hear back from the lady) and then just have a chocolate fountain instead.  So we have something to cut, nice and traditional and meant to be a symbol of unity so I'd like that and a good one for the photoalbum haha, but then we have our chocolate fountain too - we both really would love one!

You're all such a great help, thanks!
