  • OT A dilemma

Tomorrow, the areas electric is getting cut off for the entire day - bet we will lose food and the likes,...grr.. but we were also told to contact our alarm companies.  The lady on the fone from the company  had no suggestion about our alarm system. Regardless, its going to go off.  We just dont know how long for, could only be 20 mins....

    Do I

    a) Put a notice on the front door saying 'Dont panic etc etc etc' incase a neighbour calls the police? and then go off to work.

    b) stay at home for a while, just to be around (and deafened) and eat all my ice lollies too of course...

    or...................

    your suggestions, please x

Both- take the morning off work to 'be around' but go out Christmas shopping or something instead!

I would stay at home just incase there was a problem, or someone was concerned etc x

I would take the day off...

If you know your alarm is not going to be working.. who else will know... (but then I dont live in the safest of places)... *hate to sound rotten* sorry.

I thought most alarms have a battery backups just for this sort of reason. The battery should last about 36 hours. Do you still have the instruction manual as it may state this?

The alarm was installed 7 years ago and the company have no record of it being maintained she was very surprised that the battery would still be going!  When we have turned off the leccy for DIY purposes the alarms given a whine.....but we have never heard it do the rest.  The neighbours will have the same problem with their alarms perhaps. Living out in farmland I'm not that bothered...but.....

hubby says dont take morning off, I wont get paid if i dont go in..... we'll just have to take the risk of it going off....

Poor Oskar might not like it on his feline ears though!
