***Tuesday 1st Tri***

Hi all,

Couldn't see another thread - hope you don't mind me starting one.

Saw the Doctor last night, as uneventful as ever. I really wish they'd give them party poppers for pregnancy announcements or something, anything to make it a bit more special! Anyway, he's put my LMP down as 06/10 which puts me at roughly 7 weeks. I'll find out exact dates at the scan - although I wasn't offered a dating one, and he said it's unlikely I'd be seen before Christmas as my 12 week one is due the week afterwards. I'm really glad I booked the private one now, couldn't bear waiting another 6 weeks.  

Had a terrible night's sleep, felt so ill from about 8pm onwards and I've been fine up until now. Had about 5 hours sleep, gave up at 4am and went downstairs to watch some programmes I recorded (God bless V+). Drifted off about 5.50am and the alarm went off at 6 *yawns*. Early night for me later I think.

Hope everyone else is doing ok.

Morning Sshh! Yes, the GPs aren't as excited as us with our BFPs lol. My GP doesn't get a chance any more, I just rock up and say 'I'm pregnant, so I need you to prescribe A, B and C, and refer me to EPAU in X week...' lol. Unfortunately you'll need to get used to the insomnia and tiredness, but I hope you get a rest today.

I'm booking in today, and have printed out my history to take with me (too long and convoluted to remember). Other than that have a few visits to make today, so hoping for a lively day. One restful evening on order though, please - Mr M is at footyu tonight so solo bath and bed...

Sshh - My LMP was 06/10 too, so I turn 7 weeks today. When's your private dating scan? I've booked one for a week on Friday when I'll be 8+4.

Someone else (MKM??) has a scan this morning i think - good luck. Hope it goes well.

AFM - Well J has an awful cough which kept her awake last night. Then it kept me awake when I went to bed. Then H kept waking me up because I was snoring & evenually he moved into the spare room. Then J woke me up early coughing again & I couldn't get back to sleep after, so I feel like the walking dead this morning! [yawn]

Hi Splosh - a date twin!

My viability/dating scan is on 12th December. It's between mine and Mr Sshh's birthdays - hope it's a nice present for us. Think I'll be nearly 10 weeks then so we should get a good look at bubba too.

Good luck at the MW today Madonna. I hope they've listened to your prior requests and you get on ok.

Phoned the docs last night and asked how i book in with the mw, they took my details and said she would ring me, god knows when thought. I had to pick a pregnancy info pack up from them and wondered why as never had one before. Got it home and it seems its to save the mw alot of time because it was full of notes that i had to fill in, the kind she usually does on your booking in appointment, then there was another sheet giving the mw phone number and name etc and it said on the bottom, she is the only one for my area and she only works part time, how rubbish is that!!

Boobs not hurting as much again today and havnt felt sick once today either, i wish i did because im starting to worry! Feel bloated today though for the first time. Wish i could afford an early scan Im doing nothing but worry due to a mmc before Charlotte.

Supernatural - When I was pregnant with J there was only one MW in our area & she only worked part time too & I remember thinking how rubbish it was! (She actually only worked alternate weeks!) Thankfully, I had a totally uneventfu; pregnancy & never had to call/see her aside from my booked appointments anyway! I don't know about this time as I haven't seen a MW yet (booking in appointment is when I am 9 weeks). I assume it's the same though...

Shhh - When I was pregnant with J I had a dating scan at 10 weeks & it was fab! You could see a proper little baby there! (As opposed to a blob! ). I then had a 12 week scan & the difference was amazing - much better!!!

I hope everyone is gonna have a good day today! Ive been to the dentist this morning so now feel v v sick - hating even brushing my teeth at the mo so her poking around wasnt fun!!

I see the doc again tomorrow for a registration appointment (new to town) and I'll be telling her which hospital im gonna be using so hopefully get some mw details then? I cant afford a private scan either so gonna be waiting for the nhs one - doc says it will probably be before xmas though so send me some good vibes!!

right, i'm off to find some soup!!

Splosh - sounds like a rough night for you all.  Hope J's feeling a bit better today and you manage to get some sleep

Supernatural - the worrying's only natural.  I'm still worrying now after 3 scans!  Don't worry about not having many symptoms, they can come and go, especially so early on.

Max - I really don't envy your visit to the dentist

Me - well, unbelievably I'm 12 +3 today! Still can't believe it.  I've been really suffering with nausea, tiredness and faintness for the last week and today's my first day back at work since last Tuesday (although I don't work Wednesdays and was at the hospital on Thursday so I've only had two days off ill).  We've got a private scan booked for Saturday.  Hopefully if everything's ok then I might finally feel brave enough to start telling people.  I am having serious doubts about the hospital I'm booked into though but don't know whether it's possible to change now or whether I'm making a big fuss about nothing.

MKM - fingers crossed for you

Ridiculously tired here, J woke at 4.40am and ended up in with us, but woke up not long after howling and took ages to go back to sleep. Have tons to do at the moment so think I need to break my list into bits and not overdo it.

Spoke to the mw today and have my booking in a week on Saturday, so nice to have something to look forward to. Will be 9 weeks by then - it's flying by this time!

Purple Pixie, just realised how far on you are - so pleased everything is going well for you!

Hello, thanks for the wishes!

Just to update you - it certainly helps to have all your history printed out when you go if it's complicated, would have been there hours otherwise. Things they cover are previous pregnancies, any identifiable pregnancy risks, previous ops, family history of diabetes/heart/BP/mental illness etc.

Overall okay (MW was one of those who monitored my BP after Joe died), a couple fo choice comments though such as 'well, at least you don't have any problems conceiving' and 'oh you don't need a SANDS sticker, we know your history' (apart from the fact that I'm going to see my consultant and the hospital team, not local midwives during this pregnancy).

<rolls eyes> Onwards and upwards, Thurs have 3rd and final EPAU scan... keep them crossed please.

Madonna, I'm sorry the midwife was so insensitive, but glad it's another milestone reached. Hope everything is still good at your scan x

Hi all, not sure if anyone will be about.

I'm feeling mega rough today. I spent about 90 minutes late last night wretching but I wasn't actually sick. Felt rough this morning and just not with it at work so I was glad to come home this afternoon and work from home, although I've spent most of it asleep.

I phoned my doctor's surgery this afternoon and the receptionist said she would double check with my GP that he'd made the referral and I'll hear from the midwife soon.

Might Know Me.... I hope you get on ok xxx Madonna I am so pleased that your booking in went ok, the insensitive comments aside. They really can't help theirselves though can they!!

Sssh and Splosh - I really can sympathise with you over the whole tiredness thing. I can't sleep at night, but don't know if I am playing the next 7 months over in my mind or its just insomnia!!!  I hope we all get a better nights kip tonight!!!

Supernatural - I wished I could have a private scan too....its not just the money...hubby wants to wait and says what will be will be...we have no reason (fortunately) to be particularly worried...he knows me too well and knows that I want this scan because i am so bloody impatient!!!

Max - feeling yuk and going to the dentist to have your railings prodded isn't a good mix......I really hope your booking in apt goes well tomorrow xxx

Nichola - sorry to hear you are suffering ...hope you are feeling better tomorrow.

As for moi.....still feeling sick....but not actually being sick which I guess is good. The only thing is I keep eating to take the feeling away...I am going to end up the size of a house by the end of this pregnancy...and beyond!! Am soo sooooo tired too.... so am sitting hitching with my feet up on the sofa!!!
