    Morning Lovelies!

Congratulations to Kellfi and the arrival of Liam!

Baby out vibes to BB and LBP (can't remember who else needs them).

    Hope Dinx is doing ok.

I had a good day, apart from a slight blip when H was insenstive and made me cry!  He took Jack out in the morning with his sister (whilst they were gone I got a shower, straightened my hair, did makeup, made more effort with an outfit and put my new glasses on.... which H then said looked silly on me.  I was so annoyed and then felt like I looked silly and ended up crying - I know soem of it might have been down to hormones, but he really can be so insensitive and I really wished I spent more time on myself -knitting or something- rather than wasting it on trying to look nice when all he can do is make fun.  Grrrr!   I think he knew he'd been out of order - after carvery (where I ate the most!) he then took Jack to the zoo with his sister and didn't get back until just after 4pm, so I had pretty much the whole day to myself.  Whilst they were out I had the tesco order delivered and did some knitting and a few household jobs.  H and I were friends again by the time he got back!  He also did the nightshift again last night - think he realised that trying to sleep and move in bed is the worst for me and so I take over at 6am and depending on how Jack has been H goes back to bed to catch a few extra hours.

Baby is fine - it's bum was quite a bit lower yesterday and at times it was playing footsie with my ribcage - not nice!  Getting some quite strong BHs - not painful, but can really feel the balling up sensation.  Apart from that and bouts of period achey-ness/lower back ache there's no signs.  Pelvis is sore and I'm starting to think baby might be better getting out now whilst I can still walk! Makes me realise how bad it could get and I'm glad that I've curtailed my activity over the last few months as I really don't see how I'd have managed Jack otherwise or managed on crutches which were offered if my pelvis got worse!  Exactly how to you manage a toddler when on crutches?!

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend.  Baby out vibes to those that need them,

    Morning!

Cheers to Kellfi and Wave to baby Liam - lovely name!

Baby out vibes for Dinx, CheekyChops, Beetlebum and LittleBoPeep Bounce

Wren - Boo to your H but good that he made it up to you! I'm sure you looked lovely and well done you for making the effort. It does get really hard to feel like you look nice, let alone glamourous at this stage in pregnancy! Hope baby makes an appearance soon before you get more uncomfortable.

Me - I had a fantastic day yesterday. My sister threw me a baby shower which was really lovely, though I got all emotional at the end when she and everyone esle had to go home! Got lots of lovely outfits for the baby and some pampering bits for me - I am a very lucky girl. Lots running through my mind and have given up on the idea of a lie-in. Will go back to bed mid-morning I think, when I can have it all to myself!

Am a bit concerned that the baby has turned again as I had loads of big movements in the night and things are feeling a little different this morning. We shall see... I have to have my last two check-ups at the GPs as there are no midwife appointments left and am slightly worried that s/he won't know which way round the baby is as they are obviously not as experienced as a midwife. Anyone know how much training GPs get in palpation?!

Anyway - hope everyone has a chilled out Sunday. Weather here is hideous so I think it's a day to stay close to the sofa...

    Katy

Katy - glad your baby shower went well and you were thoroughly spoiled.  Hope baby hasn't turned - try not to stress about it (easier said than done though!). Enjoy your sofa day.

    Morning Wren and Katy

Wren - can understand where you are coming from, after making all that effort. I find it hard enough to make effort and I am only at 29wks, so good for you.

Katy - glad you had a good baby shower, but sorry about the possibility of the baby having moved - could you go to the hosp for a MW check up if you need one?

As for me, quiet weekend as H is working, and the weather is awful today so unlikely to get outside.  Made our cupcakes yesterday and H has taken most of them to the fire station for the lads today! Baby having a bit of a quiet weekend but all seems to be ok. I am back to work tomorrow after 2 weeks off so that be fun getting up in the dark and commuting on the M25 again. Hope everyone has a nice Sunday, despite the weather

    Morning.

    Congrats to Kelfi.

    Has anyone heard from Dinx?

Wren – I’m sure you looked lovely. Glad your H seemed to know he had been out of order and made up for it. Hope baby makes an appearance soon to help with your hips.

Katy – glad you had a lovely baby shower. Most GPs work in obstetrics and gynaecology for 6 months, some have a further interest and develop further skills. As long as they see enough pregnant women, they will be fine at telling baby’s position. I would be worried at our surgery as they never cover for the midwives (I still don’t know what I am meant to do as the midwives only work one morning a week at the surgery and it is just tough if you can’t get there that day!). If they are used to covering for the midwives, they will have kept up their skills. Unfortunately, some babies are easier to work out the position of than others! Hope baby is the right way round for you.

Bones – hope work isn’t too bad. I don’t envy you on the M25!

I am snowed under with work today. I got really annoyed with H yesterday as there just seems to be so much to do and I don’t want to be sitting trying to get it all done after baby has arrived. Hopefully, if it stops raining, I will have a chance to play with the car seat/ carry cot thing for the car. H is confident he knows how to at least get the car seat in, but I am not as confident in doing it. Neither of us are confident with the carry cot so a bit of practice is needed I think. I need to try and get on top of this paperwork and hopefully then get some of the housework done. We had a nice day yesterday – had to sort out H’s car and some furniture, etc for friends but we went out for lunch. I managed to sleep a little better last night so feeling more refreshed this morning – the only difference was that I didn’t go to bed until much later...

Baby out vibes to BB, LBP and anyone else who needs them.

    Hi everyone

Wren - I keep gettng emotional and stressing a lot at the moment. I think it's hormones and also that late pregnancy uncomfortableness that makes things a lot easer to stress about.

Katy - glad you had a lovely baby shower

bones - cupcakes - yum yum.

Well I'm 39 weeks today and have been having cramps for about 36 hours now, but they aren't coming to anything. We are hopng to get the first bedroom habitable after having it plastered so that I can set up the crib and get some baby clothes sorted. Stll no-where near finished with the house though so tryng not to stress. Have just made sure all of our towels are washed in case they are needed shortly.

Not much planned apart from decorating and need to get a few food bits.

Congratulations to Kellfi on the arrival of Liam.

El11 - it's always good to have a practice run. I will always remember our first outing with Liam and standng in the rain arguing about how to put the buggy up! We also spent ages sorting the carseat out before he was born and that took a while!

    Morning Wave

Wren - sounds like you got lots done yesterday, sorry your H was being a wally, at least he's made up for it now

Katy - lucky you with your baby shower, make sure you find the time to pamper yourself before baby arrives. Hope baby hasn't turned again [fingers crossed icon]

Bones - I don't envy you having to drive to work in this evil weather, enjoy your Sunday while you can

El11 - Hope you get to play with your car seat and carry cot. We have only played with our seat once and it looks fairly straightforward to fit in the car, I'm sure you'll be fine Hug

Westy - Hope your pains turn into something positive Wink

Me - well, I had a quiet day yesterday. I'm feeling so tired all the time, I've developed insomnia in the night now which is really annoying. I woke up at 4.30am really hot and couldn't sleep grrrrr

It's chucking it down outside this morning so I think I'll do inside chores. H needs to sort out his accounts so I'll probably be roped into that and I need to sort through a huge pile of photographs and write up my recipe folder. We didn't make it to the cinema yesterday, so may go to a matinee today and have a lovley roast dinner tonight

    Huge congratulations to Kellfi Cheers

    Morning All

Phew, Sunday mornings are quiet, I can't believe that there is still only 1 page!

Wren - boo to your H being insensitive, but I'm glad he realised he had been a bit off and that you are friends again. Sounds like you had a nice day doing things for you though, which is excellent Smile. My friend had crutches in her first pregnancy (so no active toddlers) and it really slowed her down and made everything difficult, so yes I think you were right to refuse!

Katy - did you take any pics from your shower? It sounds lovely. That's very odd about having to see your GP instead of a the Midwife - not good at all in fact (oh look and I'm supposed to be on mat leave now!). I think GPs have variable skills in palpation. My dad was a GP and he's pretty good at it, but he's not a Midwife and I think he'd happily admit that too, so hopefully you will get a GP who regularly sees pregnant women. The whole, no Midwife appointments left thing isn't good though. Is it a Community Midwife service in your area do you know? They should be able to get you to see someone else and I think that's what I'd ask for. Remind me what PCT you fall under? <stops work mode>

Bones - weather is miserable here too, queue lots of us Hitching resting on the sofa today Smile

El - we haven't played with our car seat yet either. I'm going to go and wake H to make bacon butties soon Stick out tongue and then I think the car seat is one of today's tasks.

Westy - hope the pains don't come to anything until you are properly sorted.

Cheers Congratulations to Kellfi, and hope all is going well with Dinx and CC.

Baby out vibes to LBP and BB.

As for me - I slept a lot better last night, although I did seem to have my first proper spell of pregnancy insomnia and was wide awake from 3.45 until after 5am Sad Lots of baby related prep lists running through my head. I'm hoping today that we can clean the car and have a play at fitting the car seat, and maybe do a few nursery jobs. I have a list of things to do next week whilst H is at work, but I need him for a lot of the heavier jobs - including de-frosting the freezer. I really want to get on with my batch cooking, but until the freezer is clear I can't really so not sure what to do about that.

Had a lovely dinner at my parents last night, and my dad made a yummy beef Wellington Stick out tongue

Baby seems fine, very quiet at the moment - s/he always seems quiet through the night and early in the morning and then gets progressively more active during the day, until quieting down again at about 11pm. I hope this bodes well for life on the outside Wink

Hope everyone has a lovely day despite the vile weather.

Sorry Spam, I missed you there Wave

Sounds like you need a nice restful day again - make sure you conserve your energy for when you really need it! A roast sounds excellent - I note everything I say revolves around food at the moment, oops!

    Hello everyone,

I'm usually too late to this thread and then find it overfacing!

I'm just desperate for this baby to be born now - even though I officially have 6 or 7 weeks to go (due 17th December but booked in for a section on the 10th due to previous giant babies). I've sat on the sofa for at lest 2 days and done little else for weeks as I'm suffering terribly with SPD/PGP.  The week before last it took me an hour to walk the 10 mnutes to the post box and back (even with the crutches) so I've just given up on walking.  It hurts too much nd I'm fed up of crying in front of the boys (have a 2 yo and 3yo).

Starting to realise how crazy I am as for 2 weeks I'll have 3 under 4 and Edgar's 4th birthday is Christmas Eve so have so much to sort out!  And he's having a party on he 19th so I'll have a 9 day old baby Tongue Tied

Wren - Sorry your pelvis is hurting.  It's crap to be left in pain.  I am utterly useless as a functioning adult at the moment and mostly I sit and (more than) occassionally cry.  Fed up of looking at a messy house and having to depend on H.

Katy - I wouldn't worry about the position as the baby can move at any time.  Wouldn't hurt to roll over a gym ball a bit though!  I have a friend who had a breech home birth and all was fine - I think they just panic if they know about it.

Bones - don't envy you the commute.  It's my first (of 3) pregnancies where I haven't had 4 and a half hours commuting a day.  Although I do miss the extra sleep it gave me Wink

El11 - definitely practice with everything baby related you have.  It took me so many explanation of how to use the steriliser after Edgar was born as my brain had just imploded and I couldn;t take anything in.

westy - I know it's easier said tha done but don't stress about the house.  Baby doesn't go into their own room straight away and they are very resilient.  Henry didn't have his own bedroom for 15 months and lived thrugh an extension being built.  Clean towels sound like a plan though Wink

Spamboule - you are so organised!  Pleas feel free to sor out my 20 years of photos waiting!

Mycroft (about 31/32 weeks - must check!)

Wave Smarties - we were planning on defrosting our freezer before I started doing batch cooking but never quite got round to it. Instead of batch cooking, I've been making enough for 4 each night and freezing individual portions of things like fish pie, shepherds pie, lasagne etc. You can get little foil boxes from Lakeland & John Lewis that you often get takeaway in which you can then bung in the oven...I think our babies must be signalling to each other as that's what mine does too

Hello Smarties - you sound like another terribly organised one (jealous icon needed but can't find one - is there one?).  I have so much to do but can't do anything at all, it's so frustrating.  Hope you get H to help. I find it completely frustrating having to depend on them as they always take so long to do something that could just be easily done now so you can get on. (oops, bit ranty!).

    Congratulations to Kelfi!

Wren - boo to your H being insensitive. Good for him doing the nightshift though!

Katy80 - your shower sounds fab! I've had the same worries about not being seen by a midwife - I've seen the doctor twice, and could only get doctor for this week too. He was "pretty certain" baby was head down!! Am hoping to see midwife next week.

bones - poor you having to go back to work tomorrow! Weather is miserable here too.

El11 - hope you get to play with the car seat later!

Westy - hope those cramps turn into something too!

Spamboule - hope you get to the cinema later! Roast dinner sounds good too!!

Smarties - my baby appears to be most active when ever I try to sleep - I hope this changes on the outside world!!

As for me, I'm 37 weeks today! Woo! Still can't quite believe I'm actually having a baby! Although I got a fright yesterday - I was bending down doing something and got the most horrific stabbing pain in my pelvis. I was quite freaked out. The pain is now a sort of dull ache which is there constantly. I assume this is the baby "dropping" as my bump is so much lower today. I literally feel like the baby is going to fall out at any moment!

Planning on a lazy day today and then got some nice days out planned for this week - I love maternity leave - I can't remember what it was like to work, and i've only been off for two weeks!!

Love to laters and lurkers xxx

Mycroft - I wouldn't stress but it's a bedroom for us! L also didn't have a room until later but we decided that it was a good idea to get the two big bedrooms plastered two weeks before I was due they have done the spare room and they are starting on our room tomorrow, so we need to get the other room habitable so I have somewhere to sleep.

I'm must be crazy - I'm havng a homebirth in a building site.
