I saw that on the news last night and it really upset me.
  • Re: baby-drop ritual ... (poss upsetting)

[hug] it wasn't meant to be upsetting... i found it fascinating [:I]

I actually find that quite distressing, you could physically do a lot of damage to a baby dropping it from that height.

I question that the organisers say there has never been an accident - maybe none of them have ever not been caught but I'd be sceptical that there may be things not picked up until some time after.

Why oh why would you drop your baby off a building? Why?
  • Re: baby-drop ritual ... (poss upsetting)

I don't know anything about the culture behind it, but presumeably it's along the same lines as dunking you under water to be baptised, or cutting off your foreskin? I'm not defending it, or saying it's a good idea, I just found it interesting [:I]
  • Re: baby-drop ritual ... (poss upsetting)

Dear god, I feel sick. And who was the first one who thought it would be a good idea?!
  • Re: baby-drop ritual ... (poss upsetting)

    Good god.

Are you all finding it too much to watch? Want me to remove it? .. wasn't meant to be controversial [:)]
  • Re: baby-drop ritual ... (poss upsetting)

Not finding it too much to watch at all.

Apart from it being weird (and not wise) thing to do, I am also wondering if it even more silly throwing a baby nappyless of a building and standing underneath to catch it. [laugh] Bleuurgh. [laugh]

I saw that on the news this morning, I'm surprised it's still allowed to happen tbh - remember the outcry when Michael Jackson dangled his son out of a window?

On a separate point, did you get my email the other day? Was just wondering how Finn is feeling now?

maybe if the other kids had been at the bottom with a sheet it would have been ok ?

no I didn't get your email.. sometimes they go into junk but I don't see it [bawl] but [thanks] he is much better... it was a horrible few days but he gradually started drinking again and then a few days later started eating.. he has lost a bit of weight but was a sturdy lad so it's no big deal [kiss]
