    Morning Lovelies!

Hope we are all well this morning.  We kept Jack off nursery yesterday - he probably would have been ok to go in, but really didn't want to risk him picking up anything else whilst he was under the weather.  He was no trouble and liked having both mummy and daddy about.  We're both coughing this morning - hopefully it'll pass soon.  Didn't do much yesterday- a trip to Somerfield was about the most exciting thing.  This is the 4th time in a row we've been and Jack has had to have a banana - he cries otherwise - he clutches the banana and cries when he has to hand it over to be weighed etc.  At least it's fruit, not sweets, but he has got himself a name at the supermarket for being banana boy!  Had a nice nap in the afternoon whilst H watched Jack - woke up just after his teatime.

I picked up the homebirth box from teh MWs yesterday - full of bits like gloves, absorbant pads etc and also a prescription for pethidene and something else.  Guess I'm really going to have a baby soon!  Good news - my iron count is up to over 12, which the MW said was great.  Baby is moving around - usually when I want to sleep!  I'm re-reading my hypnobirthing book which is helping me get in a positive frame of mind for the birth.

Granny (MIL) is coming over today to mind Jack, so will take the opportunity to nip to the wool shop and get some buttons for baby's cardigan and mine and also do a little food shop.  My parents are back from America tomorrow, so tomorrow Jack and I wi'll be popping over to see them with some lunch.

Baby in/out/turn vibes as needed.  Good Luck GA today (unless there is a BA about to be done),

    Morning all,

Wren - how exciting to have the homebirth kit! And am loving 'banana boy' - very sweet

Woo hoo, sneaked on early while the kettle was boiling and am feeling quite giddy to be on page 1! Two more days of work left and my lovely little baby has turned so am feeling very upbeat. Need to buy wine and nibbles tonight for the staff and write a billion thank you/goodbye cards. Had our last NCT class last night and there are already lots of plans in place to meet up, which is making me feel better about those early week.months with a newborn.

Hope you all have a great day and baby in/out & smooth-birth vibes to all who need them.

Morning Wren - I just started a similar thread at the same time, but have deleted that one to avoid confusion!

Sorry to hear you are still not 100%. It sounds like Jack benefitted from his day at home yesterday though. Laugh at the banana boy - like you said, at least it is a healthy option!

I have just copied my post from before:

I managed to sleep right up until 5am this morning, apart from getting up once for the loo so I feel a little better. I need to sort the house out today as people are coming round to look at some of our old furniture tonight. I don't have much to report - I have a mw appointment this afternoon. The rest of the day is just work and housework.

One of my cats is currently outside our nursery crying to get in - I guess she wants to play with the baby's play mat again:-) Is anyone else worried about how their pets will cope with a new baby around/ anyone with any experience? I think they will be worse if we keep them away from baby's things, so we are letting them explore them when we are there but not letting them settle eg if they try and lie down and go to sleep on things, we move the cats off. We were at MIL's at the weekend and SIL and her kids were there. MIL has the most placid cat who was letting the kids do whatever they wanted to it really and was so patient - there is no way ours would be that good  Laugh

Morning Katy - Good news about the baby turning. Enjoy your last 2 days at work. Sounds like you have a good NCT group. We don't seem to be doing so well at organising anything. There were 2 people due yesterday. We met up once since the classes, but 3 out of 10 couples turned up... We did our classes in a different area to where we live (not too far away, but there was nothing running in our area for the right time). I will try and get along to their bumps and babies group once baby has arrived though.

katy80- fab news that baby has turned for you!  I bet you are pleased!  H took Jack to the supermarket on his own the other day and when he came back said how jack had had to have another banana.  I said he'll get a name for himself, to which the reponse was "He already has"!  H said he could feel himself going crimson at the tills because got so upset having to part with his banana for it to be weighed!  Bless!

El11 - I hadn't seen your duplicate thread, but then it is still early!  Not sure what to advise over pets, but I'm sure if you posted a seperate thread on here you'd get some advice.

EXCITING NEWS:  Forgot to add in my post that I am getting nearer to clarifying the Voluntary redundancy.  They are waivering my having to pay back ML pay, even though I wouldn't be returning to work for the required 13wks to keep the ML pay, and I'd get the severance compensation payout too - means that I NEVER have to go back to that awful place so long as they can still release me (i.e. there isn't a rush of resignations etc, but think the deadline is nearly passed for leaving at Christmas).  I just hope it does come off, I hate that place and it'd be so nice to be done with it!  I'm just a bit excited, relieved and even felt a bit teary (in a good, I'm so pleased way)!

    Morning morning morning!

Fear not, I'm not that chirpy at this time of the day!Laugh

Wren - bless Jack and his banana thing. Like you said, at least its fruit and not sweets! Hope everyone in your house is feeling better soon.Hug

As for me - nothing much to report really. Still feel sad about my friend's dad.Cry We have a few plans for today to sort some bits out for my friend, so hopefully we can get that done.

Only 2 days left at work now. I'm sooooo ready to leave. Really don't feel sad about it at all, and in a funny way it doesn't seem like its happening!
Am feeling tired again today, despite havinga fairly good night's sleep. Have reverted back to peeing like a racehorse though, which is frustrating to say the least! H was laughing at me last night as I was nipping off to the loo every 45 mins (despite there being no more than a thimble's worth of wee every time)Laugh

Wigglet seems ok. Favourite game at the minute seems to be poking his backside out at the top of my belly. Makes for some very odd bump shapes!Laugh
MW thought he was still head down, but not engaged at all yet. No idea if that's good, bad or otherwise though!

    Right, I've rambled on again.
Good luck to those having induction/c-section today (GA, and maybe a few others....sorry, can't think who this morningEmbarrassed).
Glad to see you're ok KB3, if a bit busy. Hope you're taking it easy when you can.Hug

    baby in/out/etc vibes as needed.

Morning ladies, glad I'm not the only one up!

Wren - how exciting to have your kit - it really could be any time now!

Katy80 - good luck for your last days at work - you have my admiration for keeping going this long, I stopped at 34 weeks.

El11 - our cat hated LO (still does really) and makes herself scarce if he is around, in fact LO thought that cats said "sssss" instead of miaow!  Hope yours are a bit more civilized than ours!

Me, well, we had a lovely day yesterday on the train, even  though the weather was awful.  B had an umbrella for his birthday so he thought it was great to walk up and down the platform, but I wasn't so keen since the only coat that fits round me is one of H's old fleeces, not the most waterproof thing in the world.  It was worth it though to see B's face when we went through a tunnel - sooooo excited!  Quick tip though - make sure you have a small toy, trees get a bit dull for a three year old after a while!

Today is my birthday Smile, B will be at nursery but I think H might be ill (I haven't heard him getting up yet and he went tobed at eight last night) so I guess I'll have to treat myself - everyone else I know is at work!

Have a lovely day everyone, have a piece of cake for me!

Hi Mazzy - sorry to hear about your friend's dad (had no internet for a good portion of yesterday, so missed quite a bit).  Glad you are nearly on ML.  I'm quite lucky on the wee front - usually only have to get up to go once in the night - baby must be being nice and avoiding resting its head on my bladder! Don't worry about engagement - some babies can begin to engage early, but still go overdue and others don't descend to the last minute but don't go overdue.  Birth is such an unpredictable event!

Happy Birthday Caroline! Hope you have a lovely day, even if you do have to treat yourself.  Glad yesterday's trip to the trains was a success.

    Morning!

Wren - that's great about the voluntary redundancy - I have everything crossed that it works out and you don;t have to go back!  I don;t think I knew you were having a home birth, how exciting.

Katy80 - fab news!  It just shows, they can turn even up to the last minute.  I'm so pleased for youSmile

El11 - my cat loved sitting on piles of T's just ironed babygros and honestly, it was hard to keep her away from the baby's things.  She was completely banned from the bedroom though and we never left her and T alone in a room together. Poor Kitty, she was number one until T arrived.   They get on quite well now, but have a healthy distrust of each other!

I'm feeling pretty good today, but by God have my braxton hicks been ramping up.  They don't hurt in the slightest, but I am aware of them and they are getting more frequent and last for longer.  Is this normal at this stage, does anyone know?  Other than that, I feel like I'm put on 2 stone overnight.  I feel like a hippo and I don't like it!

    Have a great Thursday, everyone.

    Ugh, I'm too slow!

Katy - fab news about baby turning (think I said that last night, but hey ho!)Cheers. Enjoy your last few days at work!

El - make sure you don;t over-do things today. As for the cat thing.....we're fully expecting ours to go into full on strop/sulk mode once Wigglet is here!Laugh. Placid is certainly not one of the words I'd use to describe her......try violent, grumpy, difficult, awkward, and generally annoyed about everything instead!Laugh

mixie - I had a homebirth with Jack, so hoping for the same this time round.  Have bags packed in case I feel like I should be hospital or have to be transferred though. Glad you are feeling pretty good.  No idea on teh BH - guess it's your uterus building up strength for the birth.

caroline - fingers crossed!  I don't think there are any likely candidates in my department and tbh I think that as they know how much I don't want to be there (bullying etc in my department) I think they will let me go - I hope so anyway!

    Caroline - <hands over cake wedge> Happy Birthday!Cheers.
Glad you had a good time yesterday. A pamper day for you today sounds like a good plan.

mixie - I seem to get days too where I feel like I've piled on the pounds overnight. None of this steady even growth for me, oh no!

wren - I'm not too bothered by the head engaging thing. I don't fancy the idea of weeks and weeks of having a bowling ball between my legs!Laugh. At least he's pointing in the right direction!
