  • Has anyone had 3 under 4?

It'll only be for a coupld of weeks but I will indeed have 3 children under 4 Surprise  I was just wondering if anyone else had been in the same situation and if you have any tips (or drugs Big Smile)

Not me! But my mum did. I was first, then my brother 10 months later, then my other brother 2.5 years after that. Looking back she says it was hard but it was what was normal for them and she is glad that we grew up at similar ages and were into similar things. My mum was 23 when she'd had all of us and my dad 28.

I think the hardest thing was carting us all about as neither of them drove at the time and I was luckily ok walking everywhere when the youngest came.

Ooh, at least we have a car!  I couldn't wait to get rid of the double buggy last time and have no intention of using one this time.

We're about to put the boys (nearly 2 and a half and nearly 4) into the same room to make bedtime easier anyway.  In theory!

My Granny had three under 4 - my Mum was born in July 53, her next sister was born in Sep 55 and her youngest sister was born in Jan 57 - there's 3.5 years between oldest and youngest and there's three of them.  Insanity.  She coped, with no car, and only a three bedroomed house, and very little money.  Wow.  She might become my new hero, actually, seeing it written down like that. Lol.

My SIL did - she had 3y 7m between her eldest and youngest.  She was permanently exhausted, but she wouldn't have changed it for the world.  She went out a lot, lots of walking and lots of toddler groups!

my mum had 4 under 5 - which would have been 4 under 3 if she hadn't miscarried one of twins with number 3.

    Julz had 3 under 2 - and 5 under 6 I think

Viva Suzi I think is having 3 under 2 with none of them twins.

So there are a few around.

    K. will be 4yrs 4mnths & S. will be 3yrs 3mnths when #3 arrives so 3 under 4.5yrs.  I'm wondering how the bigger age gap will owrk as we had just over a year between 1 & 2.

I'm worrying about this too!  My first 2 were 18 months and a day apart and so 2 and a half years seems massive (I am award of how ludicrous this sounds!).  I just don't want the new baby to be left out.  I'm sure it will all work out, just have too much time to worry Smile

I wouldnt worry about the youngest being left out, I probably was (and still am) much closer to my youngest brother and I'm the eldest.

My eldest was 3 years 4 months the day after my youngest was born, so I have 3 boys born July 05, January 07 and November 08, so 17 months between 1 and 2 and 22 months between 2 and 3! It has certainly been a very busy year (well nearly a year) and I find the key is organisation. The youngest does get lugged along and have to nap on the go because I do have to head out early on the school run and off to activities for my 2 year old. I don't feel my youngest one will get left out at all, infact it is my middle one that does Sad because 1 and 2 fight constantly from the second they wake up and are very very different characters, whereas number 1 adores number 3 and they seem very similar.

    Good luck and enjoy it.
