    Morning!

How is everyone today? I hope you have nice weekends. H is away so baby #1 and I will need to plan lots of nice things otherwise we will go mad. On the plus side I did have a nice long sleep last night!

I chased my scan yesterday and was told I'm in the system but no date allocated yet. It should be allocated in 'a week or so' and my date should be in a couple of weeks. (Is partly my fauly for not going to the dr till 7 1/2 weeks.) I think I could do with the reassurance of knowing something's there soon as I'm pretty symptomless and worried so have booked a private scan (£70) for next Tues. I just looked up how big it should be by now - it's MUCH bigger than I thought, so if all is ok it will be even more exciting and defitinite!

Hi Twiglet girl - can I join you?  I just got my BFP last night so feeling a little strange and excited this morning.  H is still in bed despite me bouncing up and down on the bed in excitement.

Tell me what the first few weeks have been like for you since your BFP x

Oooh congratulations JK2B! I hpoe your pregnancy goes smoothly and you don't feel too rubbish with it, especially in the early days!

You might find that you're wishing away the first few weeks to get to your scan and a time when you can tell everyone and buying things, I certainly have been! Time does really wierd thigs, sometimes each week seems like about 4 (I was 5 weeks pg for ever!) but then sometimes a couple of weeks pass really quickly and you wonder where they went.

Take the time to enjoy it!

If you like to read about things, I've liked babycentre and this book http://www.amazon.co.uk/Rough-Guide-Pregnancy-Birth/dp/1858287650 for week by week info on what's happening with the baby and how you might be feeling.

    morning all! Wave

TG - hope tuesday comes round quickly for you! I have my scan on tuesday too!!

JK2B - Congratulations!! do you know how far along you are? I wish you a happy and healthy pg, with not too much morning sickness! For these last few weeks I have been pretty sick and very very tired but its all so exciting!

Me- I had to get up early this morning because lying there sick wasnt good! have already done a bunch of housework! felt pretty poorly yesterday with an awful headache but thankfully that seems to have eased now. My nan spoiled me yesterday by buying me lots of mat clothes and bras! I know I should technically be over on 2nd trimester now but i think my dates will be put back at my scan on tuesday as when i had my scan 3 weeks ago she said i looked as though i was behind my dates but would confirm next time. So if its ok, I will hang around a little longer!

Hope you all have great weekends!

Yes - I can't believe I am going to have to live with this excitement secretly for so long although we are planning to tell parents in a week or so - It will be even worse if the time drags!.

I think I will definitely get some books to read up on and obviously go to the GP next week.

Good luck with your scan x

Hi superbee - not sure how far - guessing only 4 weeks as just missed af a couple of days ago

Will the GP be able to confirm for me?

you need to count from the first day of your last period. I did this and my GP/Midwife went with this and will be confirmed (or changed!) when you have a dating scan.

If your cycles are around 28 days then your own dates should be right. If longer then you could be a bit more than 4 weeks. You get an official date at your scan usually, although last time mine didn't change from my own date (my cycles were 25-32 days usually).

GPs don't always take cycle length into account, although they should!

    Morning everyone

TG - I think I would do the same as you are to be honest, im terrified something is wrong, luckily my scan is on Tuesday but if I had to wait for a few more weeks I think I would have to book a scan in privatly just to put my mind at rest. I have also been using Babycentre, its fantastic isnt it. Hope you and LO has a fun weekend with your H away.

JK2B - Congratulations, I found out I was pregnant when I was 5 weeks gone, it seems like it has taken forever to get to 12 weeks but then again sometimes it seems to have really fast. Hope you are feeling ok and havent started getting any symptoms just yet. BT is brilliant if you have any questions regarding your pregnancy as your question will always get answered.

SuperBee - Glad your feeling better today and that your nan spoilt you, I think we all need a little spoiling sometimes. I have my scan on Tuesday and so does Pip so theres a few of us sharing a special day.

Me - Not feeling as tired as I did yesterday, I spent all day in bed sleeping. I have reached the 12 wk mark now so hopefully tiredness will start to pass now, with any luck. Am off out tonight to a friends house for a meal and I cant wait. One of my closet friends will be there and she is a midwife so going to ask her about delivering my baby but I dont want a home birth so got to see what she says.

Hope you all have a good day and M/S stays away

    Morning all!

For once i'm actually getting chance to get on here when i'm not at work so will have time for personals!

TG - ooh exciting to be having a scan... i hope everything looks just as it should do. You saying you haven't really got any symptoms has reassured me a bit - i'm only about 5 weeks but don't really feel any different at all yet.

JK2B - congratulations pn your bfp! i only got mine a few days ago so am still slighlty in shock. How long were your ttc for? I spent the first couple of days completely scared stiff, convinced something is going to go wrong and going over every possible complication in my head. I've made myself calm down a bit now though. Definitely a good idea to get a book or two ... i've just got "your pregnancy bible" and "the blokes guide to pregnancy" for my H - i've just been reading that one and it's so funny. Kind of tells you what's going to happen without going into too much detail. I'm still a bit scared to look at the "bible" where everything is described in so much detail (a good thing but a bit too much info for me at this point!)

Superbee - lucky you being treated to all that new stuff by your lovely nan!

Zoe - sounds like you had lots of sleep yesterday and feel better for it today. Enjoy your meal out tonight.

Me - feeling ok still.... not sure if i'd rather be having m/s or other symptoms so i actually "feel" pregnant or not... i guess i should make the most of feeling fine before the feeling rotten sets in! I am pretty tired i guess, but then i work rotating shifts so i'm pretty much knackered all the time anyway! I seem to be ok in the afternoon/evening, it's in the morning i just don't want to get out of bed and can't seem to wake up for ages. Which is fine this week when i'm on afternoon shifts but won't be great when i have to be starting work at 6:30 or 7am Tongue Tied

    Hi to all laters/lurkers x

Oh... i think i mentioned the other day i'm not seeing my Dr til the 30th, when i guess i will be around 7 weeks.... is this ok? My Dr is away which is why i've got to wait so long for an appointment, but do you think i should try and see a different GP sooner? (i'd rather see my own but will obviously see someone else if it's important i let docs know sooner)thanx

    Hello to all,

Was just lurking and wondering why superbee had not joined me yet on 2nd tri (not that I am stalking you!!). Hope scan goes well on Tuesday and will see you, Twiglet Girl and Pip very soon on 2nd tri when I won't be the newbie then!

Kay-cee - based on my experience I'd maybe go around 6 weeks. It's a pretty quick appt anyway I think with the gp so doesn't hugely matter who you see. I was really unlucky in that I couldn't get a mw appt for 2 1/2 weeks after my gp one, but it has ended up with me having problems getting a scan.

    Hello,

Sorry not doing personals today, just wanted to come on and say that I had a bit of red spotting last night and then brown spotting today.  I have spoken to the out of hours doctor and they have said that I should see the doctor on Monday and try to get an early scan.  I'm really worried.

oh no HC, have a Hug... i haven't got any advice and i'm sure at this point nothing would calm your worries anyway but from what i've read so far, a bit of spotting is quite common in early pg and as long as it's not accompanied by severe pain, then it shouldn't be anything serious. Also don't they say brown blood = old blood so not so much a cause for concern? I hope everything is ok... sending you lots of sticky vibes xx

    Hi HC

I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry too much Hug I had some brown spotting a few weeks ago and it cleared up and all is fine. Like KC said, brown blood usually = old blood. I hope that you get an early scan asap and that everything is ok Hug
