My niece is 3 and is just getting into all the games, old mac donalds farm, farm yard dominoes, shopping list, wiggle bugs etc.  Does R have many garden toys (swing sets, trampoline)?  My nieces birthday is in Jan so also wrong time of year, but we can't keep her out of the garden.

FYI, she loves her kitchen! We have the washing machine, hoover the lot! x

    OM since 8-9-10

Mrs Spink, sadly our garden isn't big enough for a slide/swing/climbing frame etc or we'd have done that for sure.

R loves his cooker etc, and cleaning stuff. Just copying mum and dad I guess!

What about k'nex (I think that's right). Its a building kit type thing has lots of things you can make.

What about a subscription to a magazine so it plops through the door each week. CBeebies or whatever he's into?

I thought he'd have been too young but they have sets from 2+ - thanks, shall investigate. (his dad would love it!).

Not thought about subs - shall look into too!

    Thanks

If he's not got much Duplo, I would say a couple more sets of this for sure. We just took a box on holiday and it kept O amused for HOURS. He loves sorting the colours, counting the bricks, and has really just started to use his imagination with what he builds. We have a couple of 'Bob' sets which are great - Lofty, Scoop and Muck aal in Duplo with Bob ey al.

O is also loving making much more elaborate sets with his wooden train track, so that's a definite goer as well.

As far as days out go, my MIL lives in France (thank feck ROTFL) and she always sends the boys a cheque - O's will be spent on his zoo pass for the year so he has something that lasts a long time. Do you have somewhere local that you could get a pass to?

O also has a My First Leapad which he really loves to use now - again, he's grown into it and it's great for hand-eye co-ordination and thought processing

K'nex has also gone down well (cheap sets always in TKMaxx)

I'm struggling for ideas for E's 2nd birthday at the mo, so will keep an eye on any further ideas!

My LO is also 3 on October. Usually as Christmas and birthday are in winter if people ask I suggest vouchers so I can use them in the Summer for outdoor toys when they are needed and a present for the other date.

How about puzzles, my LO loves puzzles maybe ones with Cbeebies characters on.
    A farm set with animals,
Dress up clothes - Doctor kit, policeman, fireman, builder that sort of thing.
I always suggest Disney classic films for when they are older (more for me though LOL)
Not sure where you live but could they take him to Hamleys (or another tou shop) and let him pick something.

Have you got a sandpit, art easel? Books? How about things for the winter rainy days - own cooking apron, aquadraw, magic painting books, sticker books?

I've bought Sam a Leapfrog "My First Computer". Also looking at Moon Sand/Aqua Sand and clothes!

    sticklebricks

    Pop up Pirates game

    Farm

Doctor's set (he loves role play now)

Owen's main present from us was his digital camera. He has taken some funny photos, which I will eventually get around to putting into a 'my first photos' album for him. We choose it in red, unisex, hoping Amelie wil get to ue it too. Its so easy to use all his friends try to play with it too.

The red colour is exclusive to Argos. I thought it would help him with computer skills when he is older, learning to transfer photos from camera to pc.
