  • Any DTCers around? Fertility appt news

Had our 2nd appointment at the Fertility Clinic this afternoon to finally get our test results.

I had full set of Day2-5 and Day 21 bloods done and an extra Day 3 to test my FSH again. H had 2 SAs done, one in Feb and one a couple of weeks ago.

    - H's 2nd SA was perfect in every way (morphology, count and motility and proved the first set wasn't good due to his flu in January. Would still be a good idea for H to take Zinc and Vit E.
    - My FSH has come down from 12.1 to 9.6 but still causing concern
    - Lost 1stone in weight and dropped from 36 to 34 BMI since our last appointment so she was happy with that and told me to carry on and get BMI down to 30 max.
    - I am on waiting list for Lap & Dye - should be next 2 months but have said yes to a cancellation - to have a look at my remaining tube and ovaries and remove any adhesions caused by ectopic
    - If all OK with Lap & Dye, they will try me on Clomid to try and stimulate my ovaries a bit more
    - If not OK with Lap & Dye, they will put us on waiting list for IVF

Was a really positive meeting and just need to wait for the op date.

    xx

p.s. lost another 2lbs tonight with WW which now gives me a total of 13lbs in 2 months [bounce]

That's all moving along nicely! Do you feel better for having got things underway?

    I'm here

Wow what a great appointment MrsT ... you both must be thrilled.

Great news about MrT's - I would say it's worth him keeping up the supplements - it's definitely not going to do any harm.

Well done on the weight loss that's fantastic.

Hope you get a date for your op soon - just think you're a big step closer to having a baby [:D].

Thanks for your replies ladies [hug]

Yes I do feel better for knowing the results and a proposed plan of action going forward. The Registrar was lovely and explained all the results well and what they meant. I told her about my cramps in what I thought was my cervix but she said it could be adhesions caused by the ectopic.

Have had 2 laps before so hoping they go in via the scar rather than making a new one.

Time will tell I guess so I better warn my boss tomorrow just incase a cancellation turns up next week

    xx

That's great news Mrs T - congrats on your weight loss!

It's always good to feel you're starting to get somewhere & things are moving. Px

Oh, how freaky, I was just thinking about you yesterday!

That all sounds like very positive news. When I was on the waiting list of a Lap and Dye the appointment came through much more quickly than I expected and it ended up being about a 3 month wait - really not long at all so I hope it's the same for you.

Oh and excellent news on the weight loss - keep it up!

Well done on the weight loss and sounds like a real positive appointment for you both.

I had to get my BMI down in order to have my treatment - it was hard but with that sort of goal it is well worth the effort.

Hope the lap & dye appointment comes round soon

Thank you all for your lovely replies - sorry for delay in acknowledging but it was bedtime.

Fingers crossed I get a cancellation but she said the waiting list is only 3 months long so shouldn't be too long. Have warned my boss I may be asking for a couple of days off at some point. He is on our side which helps.

Will keep plugging away at the weight loss in the meantime [:D]

That's great news that you had a positive appointment MrsThreads. Congratulations on the weight loss as well.

Hope that you get a cancellation appointment but if not 3 months is not too long a wait x
