  • Recommend me your detox regimes!

I have just finished a 10 day stretch of booze filled fun - two hen weekends and a weekday wedding!  I have drank and eaten so much RUBBISH so I am now not planning on drinking for the next 20 days until I go to Portugal for Tahdah's wedding.  So what do you all do when you want to give yourself a boost - other than the obvious....I have filled the fridge with fruit (am addicted to blueberries at the mo') and ate a plate of brocolli at tea time but just wondering if anyone has any other tips?!

Do you know what I am sorely (maybe wrong use of the word 'sorely' there) tempted.  Not sure funds will stretch to that though......

I was kidding.  Auto-toxification is a myth. Detox is a con. Your body has stuff to handle getting rid of toxins for you - they are called your liver & kidneys. Drink plenty of water and get more sleep.

Don't forget the squirt of aloe vera juice up your bum Lilly.

You don't need to detox - it's a myth that doing special diets, or taking supplements will somehow boost the detox process. Just drink lots of water, eat healthily, get enough sleep and exercise.

ETA - are you saying you had just broccoli for dinner? That's silly - you'll be starving. Your body needs a balanced diet, not just fruit and veg! Get some carbs and protein down you!

    Ha! Begone you daft tickers!

I reread my post and realised it sounded like that! Laugh Nah, I had brocolli on the side of my roast veg pasta.

Yeah, I never been sure about the whole detox thing hence the OP.  Currently at work with my 2 litre bottle of water and a chicken salad for lunch.  Just need to sort the sleep thing out now!

Phewie, that sounds more sensible. Laugh

When I feel the need to cut back on the crap food/drink/ late nights the first thing I try and start my day with is a glass of hot water with a slice of lemon in it, It works wonders and my mum swears by it. Obviously lots of water and 8 hours sleep a night is the sensible method.

stupid darn ticker never works!  Now it is just plain lying!!

  • Re: Recommend me your detox regimes!

is it just me? Every single time I read something about detox, or bikini diets or what celebs/supermodels eat, they always mention starting your day with a glass of hot water and lemon juice (occasionally one will also have honey in it)

I really can't see how this can be such a miracle, er it's water with the smallest splash of vitamin c.  Why is that so wonderful?  Why is it different from just having a glass of water?
