  • Very proud moment...

R's working late tonight, the first of many late nights with his new job(s)

So, at 6.45 I told Ethan that it was bathtime, and I'd do his milk if he could take the monitor upstairs to my room, for Ysella.

I went up to find him undressed in the bathroom, the bath being filled and the plug in. He then got the towels out of the spare room, and put them on the floor in front of the bath. He HATES the bath, HATES having his hair washed so I dug out some old bath paints (a present from MIL from pre-children days - I dread to think what she thought we'd do with them [xx(] - anyway I digress) and he had a great time in the bath, including painting poor Yeya's hair blue [laugh]

I got Ysella out, and then Ethan, brushed teeth then we went into his room and he sat still while I dried and changed him and got him into bed. He had his milk and didn't moan at all when it was gone, went straight to sleep.

I took Ysella into our room, where I found that he'd plugged the monitor in, and put it on the end of the bed (next to the cot), all turned on and ready to go.

Ysella fed and then went down with the tiniest of little cries [love]

I've done one load of washing this evening, have a load on the line waiting to come in and be ironed, the wet load to go into the dryer and another load just gone into the machine. Going to have a quick tidy up then relax. It was SO much easier than I thought it would be, thanks in no small part to my darling little boy [love]

And, do you have wine now?

I was just about to post of a similar achievement (H away for two nights) and both down by 7.30 with no tears shed. However, unlike Ethan, Emma didn't feel inclined to help out in any way over and above submitting to the task.

Can't believe how grown up he is and what a help (probably far more of a help than any husband would have been!).

Here's hoping tomorrow goes as smoothly.
