H is on his annual works golf outing today.

I did say to him last night that he'd best pack some waterproofs, did he listen...no.  Said he needed all the room in his golf bag for the Miller Tongue Tied

Got a phone call at 2pm today from a drenched H pleading with me to bring him a change of clothes.  I told him I was at my Mum's (5 miles from home), so no.  "But i'm soaked through to my boxers - it was a thunder storm" came the pained reply.

So I agreed to go into Matalan to pick him up some stuff.

I was in Matalan when the phone rang again "can you pick up some stuff for the other guys too".

14 pairs of cargo trousers, t-shirts, boxers shorts, socks and a 30 mile round trip later..

I walked into the club house to find 14 men in various stages of undress, but a least I got a round of applause from them and i'm getting to keep the £40 change.

They'll look attractive out on the town tonight with their Matalan specials Laugh

Oh please tell me they're all identically dressed? ROTFL

  • Re: I've earned my good wife points for the year

    How funny  Laugh

Are they all wearing identical outfits? How on earth did you manage to get something to fit everyone?

Did you get lots of different tees and trews cos otherwise they'll all look like some bizarre family outing!  Nice one that they let you keep the change (mind you, you deserved that at least - bunch of numpties!)

    Yep.  Near enough.

I bought a mixture of stone and green trews and blue and black t-shirts.  I would've bought all the same if they'd had all the sizes they wanted.

Re the sizes I asked my H and got told. "large but short leg for me....(pause while he was mentally assessing his colleagues sizes) make that 6, 2 x-large and 6 medium"  I got a mixture of short and standard length.  They've all got large t-shirts and boxers <shrug>

I noticed that a few of the men must be 6 foot + tall.  Hope they don't get stuck with the short leg trews Laugh

Good wife points forever I'd reckon, never mind just a year! Am loving the thought of them all out tonight in their matching, ill fitting outfits!

ROTFL You must, must, must post a photo - in fact I think you should text Mr Maxi right now and insist that he makes sure one gets taken.

I'm sure there will be pictures, they do a prize giving at the end of the course with pictures for the company magazine.  If I can get my hands on them i'll be sure to post.

Hope the President has drawn the short trews Laugh

Great story! I can't believe that none of them had any waterproofs with them. Or do you think they did but didn't want to look soft...

The sensible ones did decibelle.  There are about 30 odd of them on the golf outing.,  Guess which ones are the fair weather drinkers  golfers.

Ahh, H is home.  Sporting the x-large pair of trews with a borrowed belt.  Said he 'didn't feel like going into town'.

He's not amused at me laughing at him, apparently 'thunder storms are very dangerous on golf courses!!!'

Think he's away to bed in the huff Laugh
