Please can i have some get well vibes for my lovely dog.

My gorgeous 12 year old weimaraner is very poorly. She had been off her food for a couple of days and vomiting with the runs. We took her to the vet yesterday which she hates and we were given two choices, have her put down or transfer her to doggy hospital.

Took her up to the hospital,she is running a high temperature and really dehydrated. They kept her in last night to give her some iv fluids and take bloods. She was so scared when we left as she has never stayed away from us. I felt so awful leaving her.

When my husband phoned this morning they said she has not eaten and they are not sure if she has drank as she is destroying the kennel when they put her in it. I know my girl is so scared and she will be thinking I have abandoned her.

I am waiting for the vet to phone after seeing her hopefully soon to get another update.

I have never been in this situation before,I know 12 is a really good age for a weimaraner but I just want her home with me.

Can I please have loads of vibes that this will be the outcome.

No Bridesmaids!

I really don't know what to do and I need peoples opinions, I originally picked a friend and my younger cousin as bridesmaids, but the more I think about it, the less I actually want bridesmaids, my friend has a lot on her plate at the moment and can't really be there for me on the wedding front and my cousin is too young to really help out, but the last thing I want is bridesmaids just for show, I'm worried it will look strange or I might regret not having bridesmaids if I decide to go with this, I just need peoples opinions on the matter please (:

'Meshing'/mixing surnames

Ok so bit of strange post, not any real point to it other than curiosity, but I was watching TV tonight and I saw Alan Carr introduce Dawn O'Porter I was pretty sure her name was Dawn Porter, so I googled it and found this lovely article from the sun:

Apparently she was Dawn Porter, but changed it to Dawn O'Porter, when she and Chris O'Dowd met (apologies if this is old news to some - I hadn't read about it before). According to the Sun article it's part of a new trend of 'meshing' two surnames to keep a bit of yours and a bit of your partners. This made me giggle because any of the combinations of mine and my OH's surnames sound ludicrous, however hard I try. But I found it interesting because I'm not entirely sure about changing my name and quite like seeing the other options out there.

As it's meant to be the new trend, i'd never heard of it but just wondered whether others have done it/thinking of doing it or thoughts on it? I've heard of double-barrelled surnames and obviously keeping your own is becoming more common, but not combining the two, maybe I've been living under a rock?

ive got an idea (stolen from Pinterest) to have our table plan written on a silver framed mirror (I've been wanting to get this mirror for ages and now I've got two reasons!). Has anyone done this, and if you did, did it ruin your mirror? Sorry I would post a pic to help visualise it but I don't know how!

I'm not getting married in a church, so hymns aren't going to feature, and I went to a wedding last year with readings of poems and stuff and I really didn't like it. Maybe because I had to do one of them haha! I mean I'm sure it was perfect for the people whose wedding it was but it's really not my cup of tea.

So really I suppose my question is, am I the only one that plans to walk in, get married and go off to the reception?

How long does a wedding service take if you just get straight to it?

If anyone has some spare housey vibes can they be sent in my direction?

We are hoping to exchange and complete on Friday, but everything needs to be sorted out by Monday to have time for the money to transfer across (if we send the money anyway and the sale doesn't go through the money has to be sent back and we get charged apparently). The seller's solicitors seem to be fannying about with providing answers to our solicitors queries, and if we don't complete next week we have to wait 3 weeks as the sellers are going on holiday, and that's an extra 3 weeks we'll have to live with my dad as we are currently homeless (our tenancy ended on Thursday).

Hi, does anyone have a Jon Richard Diamante Crystal Triangular Patterned Necklace and Earring set they do not need?

I thought I had two in preparation for my wedding for my bridesmaids only to discover that one is not what it says on the box, it is completely different, worse still Debenhams no longer have them in stock!! I bought two looked at one to see if it was what I wanted which it was so I put them away at my mum's so they didn't get damaged. I have got them out today ready for dress fitting and found the second box is a chunky pearl bracelet... Definitely doesn't match!!

If anyone has one they don't need please let me know so I don't have to look for something else. These went with my bridesmaid dresses perfectly!!

How do you unwind and relax

I am constantly rushing around and seem to have forgotten how to unwind and relax. My jaw is constantly clenched and I struggle with my sleep routine. Its driving me nuts!!!! Has anyone got any useful tips? I will try anything within reason!

Hello Otters,

First OT thread I'm starting and I'm hoping for some recommendations. I've never bothered using an anti-ageing cream before but I think it's about time I started. I usually use Nivea products on my face so wondered if I should give their Q10 range a go, but I'd also wondered about trying some No. 7 stuff from boots as I always seem to get money off vouchers for their products. If anyone has any creams that they think I really should try (and that won't break the bank) please give me some tips. Also do I need more than one cream? e.g. day and night or serum etc? Completely useless at most things cosmetics related.

MOH's dress doesn't fit sigh

Wedding is 5 weeks away and I just got an email for my maid of honour back in Canada. She tried on the dress for the first time in a couple months and it won't close over her boobs, and could I give her the link to buy it again as her old one wasn't working... awkward; the colour was discontinued by J Crew after Christmas, which is why I sent an email back in February saying 'omg, just had a brief panic attack. Did you get your dress? that colour has been discontinued!'

*sigh*

So I just replied to tell her it was discontinued and to check ebay or if the dress in't too far from fitting to see if a seamstress could help, but I'm also on the lookout for an alternative solution if she can't find a dress in 'monterey pine' in her size. I wouldn't mind her being in a different colour altogether, but I definitely don't want a dress in a similar colour with slightly different shade and fabric. So, I need to choose a back up colour for her dress, and I need hitched help.

The colours of our wedding are greens, reds, pinks, and florals. This is my sister's dress, in the original colour, which she will still be wearing, and the FG dresses:

This is my dress (ish), and Anthony's tie (my dress will have a sash the same burgundy as the tie):

And the groomsmen all are wearing black tuxedos with dark green bowties and pocket squares:

And then there's lots of floral tea cups for decorations, incorporating a lot of pinks and creams as well, and I've used cath kidston floral wrapping paper on my table plan, will have a pink table cloth for cake table and floral frames for signs, etc. The colour scheme I created is along the lines of:

So now the dilemma of choosing a different colour for one of my two adult bridesmaids. IF I do end up having to put her in a different colour, I will endeavor to also find a bow tie that colour for the best men, so it doesn't look out of place, but here are the options:

White, champagne, or blush. I only include white because the flower girls are white, but I think I'm leaning more towards either the champagne or blush. Thoughts? Here I thought my BM dresses had been the most stress-free thing in the world, as I didn't choose anything about them and my sister was the one who picked the shop, and the colour, and both girls chose their own style in that fabric and colour, so I had nothing to do with it. But now, if there's two colours it ends up a bit more complicated.

Oh well, I'm sure it will be fine no matter what happens, I just value few opinions from on here.
