Sarah Jessica Parker: I wanted to keep my wedding bird

Sarah Jessica Parker has revealed there was one item she desperately wanted to keep from her disastrous wedding to Big in the first Sex and the City (SATC) film.

And, perhaps surprisingly, it wasn't the designer shoes or the incredible Vivienne Westwood wedding dress.

In an interview for moviefone.com, Chris North, who plays Big in the films and TV series, asked the actress which item from her character Carrie's wardrobe she would most like to own.

Parker explained that it was the tiny, stuffed blue bird she had as part of her vintage headpiece when her husband-to-be left her standing alone at the wedding venue.

"They won't give me the bird," she said. "That bird would moult and I would pick up every tiny little feather that fell off and put it in a little box and I'd put them back on. I loved that bird."

The second SATC film, also starring Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon, is in cinemas now.
