Brides opting for 'fashion-forward wedding dresses'

British brides are increasingly looking to follow the example of celebrities and choose something a little more unique than a traditional
wedding dress.
That is according to a new report in the Daily Telegraph, which has revealed that it is not just actresses and supermodels that are keen to marry cutting-edge fashion with a white gown.
According to the newspaper, growing numbers of brides "wouldn't dream of wearing a poufy merigue", with many reluctant to dress up in a big gown that in no way reflects their everyday style.
As one
wedding dress designer explained: "On your wedding day you want to look like the very best version of you not feel that you are 'dressed up as a bride."
What's more, as well as being more chic and cutting-edge, such non-traditional wedding dresses also have the advantage of being perfect for other occasions, including honeymoons, rather than for just one big day.
Earlier this month, it was revealed that Colin Firth's wife Livia wore a second-hand wedding dress to this year's Golden Globes ceremony as part of an eco-challenge.
