Penelope Cruz 'may walk down the aisle in a Balenciaga dress'

Penelope Cruz and her boyfriend Javier Bardem are reportedly set to hire a wedding venue and tie the knot in a winter ceremony.

Speaking to Touch Weekly magazine, a source claimed that because her parents are Catholic, they are urging the actress to get married.

If she does, she wants to remain loyal to her Spanish roots and is keen to have a designer from her native country create a beautiful wedding dress, the insider continues.

"Since she and Javier are from Spain, she'd love to have a Spanish designer create her dream gown," the friend stated.

One possibility could be the house of Balenciaga and although they do not have a line of wedding dresses, "I'm sure they would be more than thrilled to create a gown for Penelope", added the friend.

As well as appearing in many Spanish films, the actress has starred in Hollywood blockbusters such as Vanilla Sky, Captain Corelli's Mandolin and Vicky Cristina Barcelona.
