More newlyweds 'delay honeymoons'

More newlyweds are delaying their honeymoon and taking small breaks after they get married in a bid to cut costs, it has been claimed.
According to
wedding planning advisory firm hitched.co.uk, the current economic climate has made it difficult for couples to be able to afford both a big bash and a big holiday.
The organisation's commercial director Darren Noel explained: "A lot of expenditure on their wedding means they are taking a step back, but also if they go away for a couple of weeks after their wedding, they miss the buzz about what happened at the wedding."
He added that for many who consider the wedding day to be the most important element of tying the knot, a delayed
honeymoon is a reasonable compromise.
This comes after a survey conducted by Hotels.com recently revealed that 77 per cent of couples who intend to get married this year are planning to take a honeymoon lasting less than a fortnight.
