Ken Livingstone 'rode the tube to wedding'

Former London lord mayor Ken Livingstone did not hire a fancy car to arrive at his wedding venue this week, choosing instead to save a bit of money by riding the tube.

The 64-year-old who tied the knot with bride Emma Beal, 43, at London Zoo, took the Bakerloo line with his best man, got off at Regent's Park and walked the rest of the journey. But that did not stop the blushing bride from getting there in style.

Ken told the London Evening Standard that he forked out a hefty sum to hire a £137,000 Bentley Continental for Emma, who wore an equally lavish scarlet wedding dress.

Commenting on whether the pair plan to take a honeymoon any time soon, he said: "We haven't even thought about a honeymoon yet. You can't do it, there's so much going on. You have to be careful with the money as well, the way things are at the moment."

Ken and his new wife Emma, who also works as his office manager, have two children together: son Thomas, eight, and daughter Mia, five.

Wedding invitations are the first step towards filling your wedding with friends and family. Make sure you do it right by getting the wedding invitations right.
