Couple celebrate 60th wedding anniversary

A married couple who have recently celebrated their diamond wedding anniversary have shared their secrets to a happy life together.

Geoffrey and Jean Grant, from Starbeck in Yorkshire, have claimed that the key ingredients of a good marriage are give and take, pulling together and supporting each other in all their decisions.

The couple, who are 83 and 79 respectively, have been married for 60 years. They were engaged back in 1949, started their wedding planning and had tied the knot within the year.

Some of those who had received wedding invitations back then joined them last week for their anniversary party.

Jean told the Harrogate Advertiser: "It was absolutely super. The sun shone all day, it was beautiful."

This comes after Frank and Anita Milford from Plymouth celebrated their 81st wedding anniversary last month.

Aged 101 and 100, the happy husband and wife are Britain's longest living married couple.

Wedding invitations are the first step towards filling your wedding with friends and family. Make sure you do it right by getting the wedding invitations right.
