Frank and Anita Milford - married 81 years

Loved-up couples currently in the hectic process of wedding planning should look to Frank and Anita Milford to see that all their hard work will be worth it in the end.

Yesterday, the husband and wife celebrated their 81st wedding anniversary at the Plymouth nursing home where they both live together.

At 101 and 100 years old respectively, Frank and Anita are Britain's longest living married couple.

They sent out their wedding invitations back in 1928 before tying the knot in a register office in Torpoint and their love has since managed to survive through World War II, a bomb being dropped on their home and the birth of two children, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Frank told BBC News that the secret to a happy marriage is "give and take".

Back in 2002, a Taiwanese man and woman celebrated their 85th wedding anniversary, breaking the Guinness World Record for being the longest married couple.

Wedding invitations are the first step towards filling your wedding with friends and family. Make sure you do it right by getting the wedding invitations right.
