Brunton Park to become wedding venue?

Fans of Carlisle United football club who dream of having a footie-themed wedding could have their wish come true, reports reveal.

According to new reports, bosses at Brunton Park are considering making the appropriate applications with a view of offering the team's home pitch as a wedding venue, in response to previous interest expressed by fans.

"They could get married on the pitch and have their reception in Foxy's – just not on match days," Carlisle United managing director John Nixon told the News & Star.

"I think it's something offered by other football clubs and there are a lot of Blues fans who would like to make use of the facilities for weddings and receptions."

Couples have only previously been able to have their marriage blessed at the venue, but now bosses are looking into the relevant paper work to obtain a licence required to cater for such events.
