Olympian to auction wedding dress for charity

Double Olympic gold medallist Sarah Ayton is selling her wedding dress at auction to raise money and awareness for Meningitis UK, the Daily Echo reports.
The 28-year-old sailing champ will be auctioning her size ten designer wedding gown on Buy Once Give Twice website, with bids starting at £100.
At the age of 15, Sarah was diagnosed with a serious form of meningitis but was lucky enough to pull through and go on to fulfil her Olympic dreams at both the 2004 Games in Athens and this year's Beijing event.
"It was my dad's idea to raise money for a meningitis charity," she told the regional newspaper.
"My mum phoned up Meningitis UK and asked if they would like the wedding dress to auction and they were delighted. I'm hoping it will raise as much as possible."
Sarah tied the knot with long-term love and fellow Olympian Nick Dempsey just last month. The newlyweds recently returned from a "relaxing" honeymoon around the west coast of Scotland.
