Caribbean wedding saved by mystery donor
An unidentified donor has saved the spoiled wedding planning of a welsh couple, who's wedding dreams were shattered by the recent collapse of travel firm XL, according to new reports.
Following the company's closure, 29-year-old Welshman David Hopkin and his bride-to-be Clare Addis from Swansea lost out on their £8,000 overseas wedding in St Lucia.
Much to the couple's surprise, an unknown benefactor donated funds to pay for their wedding, while a hotel in St Lucia has offered to serve as a wedding venue and flights to the Caribbean destination have been provided by Virgin Atlantic.
Commenting on their turn of fortune, Mr Hopkin said: "We are unbelievably delighted – it's a happy ending after all."
"We don't know who the anonymous donor is, but David and I call him our guardian angel," his fiancee added.
Caribbean weddings have become increasingly popular among British couples looking to double their wedding venue as an exotic honeymoon destination.
