Hitched.co.uk Celebrates National Marriage Week

National Marriage Week 2009 falls between the 7th and 14th of February 2009, the lead up to the most romantic day of the year, St. Valentines Day.

Despite the current recession, the forecast for marriages taking place in the UK this year will hit record levels according to the UK's most popular wedding planning site, hitched.co.uk.  The amount of registered weddings on the site for 2009 have soared over the past 6 months.

Academy award winner Lord Richard Attenborough and his wife Sheila Sim will reach 64 years of marriage in 2009. The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh will have achieved 62 years wed, and even though many thought it wouldn't last, popular celebrity couple Posh & Becks will celebrate 10 years of marriage on their anniversary, 4th July 2009.

Recently, British citizen Margaret Beauvoisin, 81, who has been married to her husband John, 84, revealed that they have celebrated each year of married life together by renewing their wedding vows annually since their original wedding day in 1948.  'It reinforces our promise to love and care for one another' she commented.

If you want to celebrate your wedding anniversary this year with your loved one, why not give them a traditional anniversary gift such as the ones listed below.  It seems as if Victoria Beckham might be getting a tin of beans this year.....
