Royal Wedding Inspires Grooms To "Have Their Own Cake And Eat It"
I’m really into wedding cakes this month. Having seen the beautiful, ivory, 8 tier
wedding cake pictured in magazines and online from the Royal Wedding, and
featuring our top 10 wedding cakes on the hitched.co.uk homepage this
month my taste buds truly are tingling.
Something new to hit the UK recently is the concept of Groom's
cakes! Having been popular in the US for many years this idea is now hitting the UK wedding
market and British wedding planning couples are happily welcoming the idea. Royal Wedding guests got to taste Prince Williams favourite dessert – a multi-tired chocolate biscuit cake –
at the wedding reception of William and Kate on April 29th last
month, and more companies are introducing the new Groom’s cake idea, dedicated
to men only.
Beth, owner of Cakes by Beth said, “It is an excellent way to showcase the fun
side of a couple, solve the dilemma of traditional vs. quirky wedding cakes and
gives the groom an opportunity to have some control over the cake
planning"
“Combining a formal, pretty wedding cake and a personality
packed groom's cake creates a real talking point and can even include more 'manly'
flavours, such as William's chocolate biscuit cake, something really boozy or
even chilli chocolate!"
Cakes by Beth (www.cakesbybeth.co.uk) offer a personal, focused service with every cake being designed from scratch to meet your exact requirements - in short, the cake of your dreams!
Alternative Cake Co. based in Stevenage
have recently introduced a Man Cake, consisting of a fruit ruby ale with a dark
chocolate truffle filling. What a great idea for a stag party or to serve on
your wedding reception buffet.
