Photography, Videography or FILMATOGRAPHY?

Your wedding check list will include the obvious essentials such as making a guest list,  finding a beautiful dress, viewing gorgeous venues and choosing a wedding cake, but when it comes to capturing the special moments of your wedding day will you choose wedding photography, videography or Filmatography?

A revolution to re-invent the way in which events are documented has been started by a London based photography studio, PR Photography, with their new concept of FilmatographyTM bringing to the market a totally new choice for today’s discerning bride. The whole concept involves a blurring of the lines between photography and videography, delivering highly engaging, beautifully cinematic filming with the operators remaining totally unnoticed on the day.

How has this been made possible? Recent changes in technology have allowed filming to be now done through photography cameras giving enormous advantages over the video camera platform. The first of which is that the operators act far more discretely able to film people from a far with telephoto lenses and shoot hand held with the use of clever image stabilizers without the need for bulky tripods. The result is very natural footage just like the common style of reportage photography but of cause delivered as moving images in a film.

Rather than long durations of footage from a single viewpoint, the style of FilmatographyTM is full of creativity with much shorter clips taken from a range of angles giving a contemporary montage of each scene.

The website Vimeo has been instrumental in this with ultra-fast servers enabling cameramen and production companies to facilitate video sharing which can be delivered through external websites much in the same way YouTube operates. For the first time people have been given the ability to share their wedding coverage with friends and family wherever they are.

You can view a selection of FilmatographyTM examples by clicking here, OR you can enter the current competition on hitched.co.uk to WIN a FilmatographyTM package worth £1950 for your wedding day, courtesy of PR Photography.

ENTER NOW or contact PR Photography directly for further information on how you can book FilmatographyTM for your big day!

Even more novel is the supply of the films on pre-loaded Apple iTouches and iPads, an integral part of PR Photography’s packages, which also include still photography imagery to potentially redefine a new concept of the wedding album of the 21st century.

The wedding industry certainly has embraced the digital world!
