FYEO OMG!

Last Thursday Abi from the venues team and I drove up to High Wycombe to experience an FYEO Portraits boudoir photo shoot!

I met Alex Burns 4 years ago at a dinner and when she told me her profession I instantly wanted to learn more. It has taken me this long to gain the courage to actually visit the studio and I have come away from this experience feeling more confident and better about my body than ever before.

The High Wycombe studio is just over an hours drive from the hitched office and the Sat Nav drove us right to the door.  Having never experienced anything like this before I had no expectations...because I generally didn’t know what to feel! Walking through the front door and heading up a staircase I could see different images and poses lining the walls of what looked like a place for skinny models and gorgeous people. The nerves started to get the better of me and at precisely 10am Abi and I cracked open a bottle of vino! We thought that we may as well enjoy our day as much as we could!

After a cheers and half a glass of wine we consecutively had an incredible M.A.C Make-over.  For years I have worn the same make-up...mainly because I am scared to experiment just in case it looks bad or I choose the wrong colour for my skin tone.  Our make-up artist was really adventurous and actually went for much darker colours than I would have expected or would ever try myself. The expert knew what she was doing and we both looked like we could have stepped right out onto a catwalk!

I needed a little more wine so I let Abi have the pleasure of having her shoot first. I could hear laughter and loud music coming from the room next door as I kept imagining what positions Alex would put me in when it was my turn.  I had taken 7 pairs of knickers, a corset with matching pants, 3 pairs of stiletto heels and a metal Love sign to use as a prop from my bedroom. I had no idea what to expect....

Abi came out of her shoot very excited and confident and with in minutes it was my turn.

I didn’t get butterflies but I did feel slightly tense as I walked in to the dark room clutching my smalls. I laid my selection of panties out on a soft fur blanket and Alex took a look to see which order she wanted to work with.

We started out with a corset and I was instructed to lay flat on a big block.  Alex put me into position, adjusted the lighting and then worked her magic.  I followed her lead and did exactly what she instructed...twisting my body, closing my eyes, raising my hips and turning my head with every click of the camera.

Every 10 minutes I changed my underwear and at some points it was just my skin that clothed me. I have long hair so I was able to use this as a prop as well which worked beautifully. I felt at complete ease through out my entire shoot with Alex and she instructed me to move into positions that she knew would flatter my body and make me look amazing. At some points it did feel like I was in a Pilates class because of the positions, and I was concentrating so hard that I actually couldn’t even speak for most of the experience.  Alex was 100% in control and I let her lead me every step of the way.

When it was over I kept thinking back to what I had just done and how I was actually going to look.  I’ve always had a big bum and I was conscious that I would look back at my images and immediately sign up to weight watchers.  Yesterday afternoon however I received my username and password to my unique and very personal photo gallery online with FYEO Portraits.

I had been nervous about receiving these details all day and wanted to be on my own private computer when they came through rather than at work! My text came through at 7:30pm but it wasn’t until 9pm when I had the courage to open my gallery....and now I can’t stop smiling! I look and feel like a new woman and I can’t believe what an amazing job Alex has done.  I have never looked at myself in this light before.

Abi felt the same about her collection of images and when I asked her about her experience this morning she quoted ‘'Alex made me feel at ease throughout the whole experience.  The photos are amazing! I'm totally going to recommend to my friends!!'

I agree with Abi. Alex shone the light on my best bits and accentuated my figure in ways I didn’t think were possible when it came to my hour glass shape. I couldn’t be happier with my images and would recommend a visit to the FYEO Portraits studio to anyone, of any age or shape!
