'Made to Measure' Suiting Coming SOON to Hugh Harris!

Steve Bishop from Hugh Harris, specialist suit hire company based in Woking, has spent 2
years planning this new and exciting service that is due to launch at the beginning of October 2010. Delaying the launch or taking time to introduce
the service has been key for several reasons.
Hugh Harris always strives for perfection.
Introducing the Y.W.S (Your Wedding Suit) service has required planning to ensure that, when the
service is introduced, it is professional and different. There are many so called “made to measure”
services that are simply glorified form filling / computer generated suits made
via cheap labour. There is no such thing as inexpensive made to measure unless
corners are cut or service is lacking.
Time has been spent sourcing modern fabrics
and to create, in conjunction with reputable designers and suit makers, suit
designs and cuts that take the traditional work suit and turns it into a
garment that is worthy of being worn for that most important day.
MORE IMPORTANTLY all designs and fabrics
have been chosen with the groomsmen in mind as well as the groom. Therefore
when choosing a unique creation from Y.W.S, outfits to hire that totally
compliment can be chosen from the same showroom via the Hugh Harris Formal
Attire hire service. All to often a groom has sorted his suit without thinking
about what to do for the groomsmen. The Team at Hugh Harris and now Y.W.S have
taken all of this into account and can now offer the complete package.
Y.W.S or Your Wedding Suit will insist on
multiple fittings as part of the service and price and will included ALL
alterations free of charge. The process is detailed but simple. Clients choose
their unique design / fabric with this detail (order) being sent to the suit
maker of their choice. We call that fitting #1. At fitting #2 the initial creation
will have been made and ready to try. At this stage finite measurements as well
as any style changes can be considered. The suit is then sent for “finishing”.
Fitting #3 will be several weeks later when usually the suit is ready to wear.
Should any finite alterations be required at this stage, this will be
undertaken usually on an overnight basis.
The suit process will normally take 8 weeks
but this assumes clients are free to visit promptly. Y.W.S are working on
twelve week recommended time frames to allow the suit maker time to create and
to enable the client time to re-visit and re-fit. Appointments will be with
senior, fully trained clothing experts. Between them the team involved at Y.W.S
have over 50 years clothing and suiting experience.
What & Why “Made To Measure “
It is rare that you find the exact style,
the exact colour and the exact fit.
Y.W.S offer a wide range of fabrics and suit style suggestions from a
classic black wool mohair fitted suit to a bright green ¾ length coat. This choice
along with detailed measurement to combat that large shouldered or narrow
legged individual is the solution.
Price Guide – Final costing are pending but
Y.W.S envisage a starting price of £799.00.
Prices will increase dependant on the client’s choice of suit maker,
fabric and other details such as pocket trim, lapel detail and lining. We
cannot envisage a price much above £1199.00.
