A Grand Experience at The Grand Eastbourne

09 Mar 2010

'The Grand Hotel is a huge creamy palace' - Quoted by Dennis Potter from the book The Grand Hotel 1875-2000 written by Peter Pugh.

I read the above book this weekend during my stay at The Grand Eastbourne....and Dennis Potter is right.  The Grand Hotel really is a huge creamy palace!

Situated in a prime location on the Eastbourne coast The Grand Eastbourne Hotel is a stunning and exceptionally beautiful venue to host a party, celebration, and most importantly, a wedding. A wealth of celebrity and high profile names have stayed at The Grand Eastbourne in previous years which makes the venue a really exciting place to visit.  The likes of Winston Churchill, Wham, Omar Sharif, Bruce Forsyth and Cliff Richard have all been guests at the hotel...just to name a few.

I attended a very special wedding showcase on Sunday which gave me, and anyone else who attended the showcase a great idea of what it would be like to get married at the venue.

A very smart doorman welcomed me to the hotel, and then after having walked through the very impressive entrance lobby I had the choice of going to one of three rooms that had all been set up as a wedding reception.

The Grand Eastbourne work with a number of recommended suppliers such as Theatrical Weddings who did all of the background displays and chair covers, Grand Flowers who of course did the stunning table centrepieces,  Handmade by 'me' who supply stunning stationery and wedding invitations, and Perfect Day Studios who can capture your exciting day on film. I got to meet everyone and felt really confident that they would provide a fantastic service if I were to book them for a wedding day, event or celebration.

Meeting the suppliers face to face gave me a really good idea of what services and options are available to every type of wedding planning couple that book their wedding at The Grand Eastbourne.

There was a live opera singer at the showcase who sounded absolutely amazing and her voice filled one of the rooms with so much emotion! Voices Live are also a recommended supplier of The Grand Eastbourne and feature at weddings at the venue regularly. There is also tons of opportunity to take some amazing wedding photography if you host your wedding at the hotel. The grounds just outside the hotel are perfect to embrace the sea view with in your wedding photography, as is the interior design of the venue.

Besides hosting a wedding at The Grand Eastbourne they also have 152 bedrooms so that your guests can stay over as well.  There are several different room types and most of them have a beautiful sea view which really makes you feel like you are far away from home. Your first night as man and wife could be something really special. The hotel is huge so there is plenty of room to relax and prepare for you the big day ahead.

The hotel also offers a Spa, with a swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room, and options to book hair, make-up and massage therapy treatments. So basically once you walk in the door of the hotel you can don't have to leave.

I also have to say that the service from the moment I walked through the door of The Grand Eastbourne...right until the moment I left was impeccable. The staff on the reception desk were more than helpful, the food in the restaurant and the service was outstanding, and the wedding planning team were all more than willing to help make your wedding day a huge success.

It might be worth booking a weekend away at The Grand Eastbourne to test it out for yourself and get a feel of how comfortable and excellent the service is at this venue.

I had an amazing weekend at The Grand Eastbourne and I am sure you will too if you decide to head down to the coast for a weekend, or book your wedding at this venue.
