LUSH St. Lucia.......(with pics)
Just a few weeks ago I was lucky enough to head over to the beautiful Sandals Regency La Toc resort in St. Lucia.
Having never been to St. Lucia before I was unsure as to what to expect, but I have to say.....St. Lucia, and the experiance I recieved with Sandals Resorts were AMAZING!
Sandals own 3 properties in St. Lucia.....The Regency La Toc (where I stayed), The Grande, and The Halcyon. Each property is very different, but all are set on a beach front and have a variety of different room options available for every type of budget. All are perfect settings for a wedding ceremony, or a very romantic honeymoon.
The Regency La Toc is a stunning property situatied in the North West of the island, about a 90 minute drive from the airport. There is a huge golf resort on the property and a wide variety of rooms including Millionaire suites.
My room at the Regency La Toc was really spacious and was set on 2 levels which was amazing. I even had my own mini swimming pool which looked out onto the beach and beautiful sunsets in the evening.

Some suites at the Sandals resorts include a personal butler service in the price which is a real luxury. The personal butlers are on call 24 hours a day to help with un-packing, ironing, bringing breakfast and champagne to your room, securing a lounger at the swimming pool and much much more. It is definitley an added bonus!
A lot of people head to St. Lucia because it is a true taste of paradise....and the most perfect spot to get married. The Sandals resorts all have licences to hold wedding ceremonies for UK citizens. Upon arranging your holiday you would be put in touch with a wedding planner who would tell you absolutely every thing you need to know about getting married in St. Lucia, and what to expect once you arrive at the resort. From January 2010 the wedding planners will be able to advise you on the brand new Martha Stewart wedding packages which are all themed, depending on the type of couple you are and the style of wedding you wish to have.
Each Sandals resort comes fully equipped with its own 'Red Lane Spa' where a bride and groom-to-be can be pampared to their hearts content before putting on thier wedding dresses and groomswear, and heading onto the beach to tie the knot. After a heavenly massage, a professional manicure, pedicure, facial, hair style and make-over you will look and feel the part, and be ready to walk down a sandy aisle.
At each resort there are a number of private gazebo's, situated over looking the beautiful beaches. The gazebos are the most perfect setting for a very romantic wedding.

Imagine the wedding photo's that you can have after getting married in one of those! Each resort has an on-sight wedding photographer and studio, so not only can you have a photographer present at your wedding, but you can also book during your stay to take some magical photo's of the two of you through out your stay.
The Sandals Resorts are all sold on an all inclusive basis, which is great in terms of choice. Each resort has a number of stunning restaurants and bars and the choice for food is endless. You can opt to stay at a resort for any number of nights, and if you like you can even stay at all 3 resorts, moving every couple of nights for variety. A lot of people might think that staying in an all inclusive resort means that you are tied to the property and there is nothing to do on the outside. Well, St. Lucia is different.
In just one day I got to go on a Catamaran for a couple of hours to a town called Soufriere where I got to visit a live volcano, the botanical gardens, and had lunch on one of the highest peaks in St. Lucia. I also went horse riding along a beach, which was one of the most romantic activities I have ever experienced. As an island St. Lucia is very mountainous and hilly and the roads are all narrow and windy. You can see from my pics below how green St. Lucia is.

I mentioned above that Sandals own 3 properties in St. Lucia. The Regency La Toc is quite a spread out property with 2 swimming pools, about 8 restaurants and the option to have a romantic candle lit dinner on the beach. The Grande is an amazing property which seems larger, but is about the same size as the Regency. The main swimming pool at the Grande is elegant, and the over all feel of the property is first class. The Halcyon is a low rise property with chalet-style rooms running along the beach front. I would say that the Halcyon was perfect for a couple looking for a bit of peace and quiet, but with the luxury of swimming pools leading right up to some of the bedrooms.
Each property has a huge range of suites and rooms to choose from.....the lowest type of room is classed as a Deluxe, which is the equivalent to 5 Star. The highest standard room at the Regency La Toc is the Millionaire Suite. Each room comes fully equipped with a living room, extra huge bed, elegant style decor and french windows that open up to the views of the ocean and an infinity swimming pool. These rooms are absolutely fabulous and offer the highest quality of accommodation.
This pic was taken from where the bed would be in the bedroom of a Millionaire suite:
