Welcome one and all to my celebrity wedding blog. For those of you with no interest in famous fashionistas and their pre-nuptial plans, avert your eyes now, otherwise, you've come to the right place. Having worked in the fashion magazine industry for as long as I have and specialising in glamorous celebrity weddings - to which I have attended my fair share - juicy insider scoops are my raison d'etre. Believe me, I have seen some things that may inspire, shock and even terrify you to the very core so consider me your eyes and ears on all things glitzy, glamorous and wedding related.

Corrie's Simon Gregson ties the knot

If any of you are fans of Coronation Street you'll know the soap is celebrating its 50th anniversary this week, with some explosive episodes I know are going to keep me glued to the screen.

But that's not all actor Simon Gregson had to celebrate recently, as he walked down the aisle and said his vows last month.

The star, who plays Steve McDonald in the show, tied the knot with long-term partner Emma Gleave at St Bartholomew's church in Wilmslow, Cheshire, the Daily Star reports.

Before he made the commitment it seemed Simon was keen to celebrate with the lads, but in a very low-key fashion.

A guest at The Cottons Hotel where he was staying said: "On the Friday night he was spotted in the bar at the hotel having a few pints of Guinness with pals."

The newspaper also claimed he went to the establishment's spa the day before his nuptials to enjoy a relaxing session in the hot tub.

I must say, it makes a change to see guys behaving sensibly before a wedding, as normally I imagine them going wild on a trip to Amsterdam and turning up still drunk to their ceremony. If you've ever seen the film The Hangover you'll know what I mean!

Of course, there's nothing wrong with marking the occasion but - and the same applies to hen parties as well - I think there's better ways of enjoying your last few days of freedom than drinking too much and doing something you'll regret.

What is your other half planning for his stag do?
