Beverley Callard 'has 20 bridesmaids at wedding venue'

When it comes to celebrities wedding planning and arranging their nuptials, nothing much surprises me any more.

Whether it's a fairytale gown, a million-pound venue or a huge guestlist, many pull out all the stops to make the occasion extra special.

It seems as though Coronation Street actress Beverley Callard is no exception, as she reportedly had no less than 20 bridesmaids when she recently married Jon McEwan.

According to the Daily Mirror, the actress - who plays Liz McDonald in the ITV soap - dressed the women in black lycra frocks for the nuptials.

The news provider states that the star looked fabulous in her wedding dress, although I'm not so sure I like the sound of the other outfits.

I've never been a fan of black at weddings, especially if the bride decides to follow in the footsteps of Sarah Jessica Parker and wear the sombre hue herself.

Plus, I think 20 bridesmaids might be a little excessive! I understand it can be difficult choosing some girls and not others, but at the end of the day they should understand not everyone can have a role in the ceremony.

That many people could be more of a hindrance than a help and Beverley could have been overshadowed by the crowd around her.

What do you think of Beverley's wedding? Was it a bit over the top?
