Jennifer Bell

Welcome one and all to my celebrity wedding blog. For those of you with no interest in famous fashionistas and their pre-nuptial plans, avert your eyes now, otherwise, you've come to the right place. Having worked in the fashion magazine industry for as long as I have and specialising in glamorous celebrity weddings - to which I have attended my fair share - juicy insider scoops are my raison d'etre. Believe me, I have seen some things that may inspire, shock and even terrify you to the very core so consider me your eyes and ears on all things glitzy, glamorous and wedding related.

Themed weddings – how extreme would you go?

Not so long ago I read an article about a couple called Angela Ayrton and Gary Kerley who decided to get married dressed as characters from the film Shrek.

Now I know this is quite an unusual ceremony and not the sort of thing you see in most wedding photography, but according to one expert, many people like to express themselves by doing something a little different when they tie the knot.

Helen Webster, editor at Perfect Wedding magazine, said couples want to provide a celebration that guests will remember.

Although this may not be quite as extreme as getting dolled up in fancy dress and putting green paint on your face to resemble an ogre, the wedding venue can play a big part in their decisions.

"For example if someone has a very medieval venue they might opt for a more medieval theme," she explained.

To me, this seems like a much nicer way of adding an individual touch to the occasion and if couples give some thought to the type of flowers, music and decorations they have, they can make the day unique without going too far.
