Jennifer Bell

Welcome one and all to my celebrity wedding blog. For those of you with no interest in famous fashionistas and their pre-nuptial plans, avert your eyes now, otherwise, you've come to the right place. Having worked in the fashion magazine industry for as long as I have and specialising in glamorous celebrity weddings - to which I have attended my fair share - juicy insider scoops are my raison d'etre. Believe me, I have seen some things that may inspire, shock and even terrify you to the very core so consider me your eyes and ears on all things glitzy, glamorous and wedding related.

Why eco-chic weddings are a good idea

Why not do your bit for the environment and hold a sustainable wedding ceremony?

It seems that everywhere I go at the moment I'm being told I need to recycle, reduce my carbon footprint and take my own bags to the supermarket.

The UK is becoming increasingly focused on the importance of helping the environment and those of you who are planning your weddings are no exception.

With so much to organise, you will probably be creating a lot of carbon emissions, but luckily it can be easy to have an eco-chic wedding without compromising on style.

Catholic San Francisco advises that by using locally sourced ingredients for the feast at your reception and ordering your wedding flowers from a supplier nearby, you are on your way to a sustainable ceremony.

You could also use pretty potted plants as centrepieces for the dining tables, which can then double up as gifts for the guests, and ask for recycled paper to be used when your order wedding invitations.

I think it is really important to give this some consideration when you are arranging your nuptials, after all, every little helps and doing things the environmentally friendly way can add an extra element of interest to your big day that will ensure it is unforgettable.
