How to cater a wedding on a budget
Wining and
dining your wedding guests does not always have to break the bank. I know that after I've attended the
nuptials of friends and family, sitting down to a delicious meal before the
wedding speech is something I look forward to.
But for the
happy couple, this can be a big expense along with things like the wedding
venue and a dress. With so many mouths to feed I imagine there are some of you
wondering how you can stick to your budget and keep everyone happy.
One idea is
to ditch the traditional three-course meal and think of other types of cuisine
to serve to the guests.
Speaking to
the Mirror, wedding website owner Nicola Ray said that "you can cater yourselves - you'll knock
thousands off your catering budget".
She does admit
that this could be a daunting task for many of you, so suggests having a
barbeque or afternoon tea and canapes as unusual but equally enjoyable
alternatives.
I think
these are some great ideas because as well as saving money, they will create an
informal atmosphere that allows guests to mingle and chat with each other as
they help themselves to food.
After all,
wedding receptions do not always have to be about fine dining.
What kind of food do you want at your wedding?
